PS3 flicker problem while playing DVD's? - Blu-ray Forum

My PS3 does this thing when I'm playing DVD's that it'll flicker about every minute or so during the movie. Sometimes it's green, sometimes it black/white.. but it only happens when it's playing a DVD and sometimes when it's not playing anything and just the PS menu is up, but never during Blus or games.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

When talking about hardware problems, it's good to know the hardware and how it's setup. So how's it setup?

Maybe a HDMI issue? How is your PS3 connected?

I had something firmiliar like this happen to me while playing a game. I ended up having to send it in for a replacement in my case.

I'm not sure if it's an HDMI issue.. My PS3 and HD DVR are both connected to my TV using brand new 4 ft. HDMI cables from Best Buy..

Try swapping the cables or a differnet one if you can or just try reconnecting the cables to make sure there is a good connection on both ends.

Are you sending 1080 I or P ?
I have seen similar problem before and that turned out to be the TV was terrible scaler. Check your ps3 settings and foolaround some with them and then maybe try\borrow another Hdmi cable to see if that helps in any way.

this EXACT thing happened to me with two ps3's, what i had to do is reformat my HD and make sure u got the latest update
