But if you are talking European films or TV shows then they might not play because they might be in 25p or 50i on the disk and then if both your player and display can't handle it then you can't watch the content.

Sorry, but you aren't quite accurate yourself. I was talking about 1080p, which is what the majority of feature films are encoded, and that has nothing to do with NTSC/PAL or 25/50. Any region free blu-ray that is encoded 1080p will be playable on any Blu-ray player, period. There is no such thing as 1080/25p or 1080/50p on the Blu-ray spec. It's either 1080/24p or 1080/60i or 1080/50i. Only 1080/50i would be a problem for most North American blu-ray players (but some can play it back).

So there are two deals going on right now that are pretty good from Zavvi.com.

I added a few steelbooks to my cart and it seems that if the steelbook book is under 15 pounds it charges either 0.99 or 1.99 for shipping. If the steelbook is over 15 pounds then shipping is 11.99 pounds. Don't know what Zavvi is thinking. No one is going to pay that much to ship 1 steelbook. Guess Zavvi was getting to many complaints about steelbooks "missing" in the mail.

Wha...haa...aat?! The last steelbook I purchased from Zavvi was The Purge: Election Year, just two weeks ago. It was £18. I just checked my Paypal account and I wasn't charged anything for shipping.

If this is the pricing model going forward, I'll really have to think twice about making a purchase.

It looks like I'm gonna start saving some money now. Can't believe they're trying these new shipping charges. Really wanted to pre-order the new Tron Legacy steel but they want to charge for tracked shipping only to the States. $20.99 just for the shipping alone. They claim it's for our benefit to make sure we receive the item. I've never had one lost or damaged from Zavvi and I've ordered nearly 100 of them. It would be much cheaper to take a loss every now and then instead of paying these outrageous shipping charges.

All the old titles seem to remain the same, but the newer pre-orders are for sure $20.99. I personally can't give double the price for these steelbooks and I hope Zavvi changes their minds about this.

Looks like it might be fixed. I just tested the Lenticular Beauty & The Beast and it's giving me the cheaper shipping option again.
