Seems Paramount in Europe have dropped the movie version releases after only one with Best of Both Worlds, so like you will need to import Redemption.

I'd have thought it would be region free since practically all Paramount releases are and they hold worldwide rights for Star Trek...

Like all previous Trek BD releases it's Region Free, at startup it even has a menu to select English, French, German or Japanese so they designed it to cover several territories.

Ended up watching it last night, another fantastic job by CBS-D but I felt the edit between the 2 parts could have been handled better, they don't even give the music a chance to stop before cutting in the next part so it overlaps slightly.

No it does not but its the foldout front isnt as delicate as the BOBW one, still I have put it away in a polybag for protection.

Not releasing Redemption standalone in Europe seems daft by Paramount as if the specification listed here is correct the US disk has all the European language subtitle tracks on it. They were obviously planning to release globally at some point but then changed their mind for Europe. Only thing I can think of is the BOBW standalone disk sold poorly over here.

If they are making available as a store exclusive not reason why they could not do so in the UK.

None of the online suspects in the UK Amazon, Zavvi, Asda and Sainsburys who have done retailer exclusives in the past appear to list it.

Has anyone seen anything elsewhere ? or in store at HMV ?

Redemption won't be available in the UK, if you want it, you have to import

Its only being released in US, Canada, Australia, Germany & Japan. The US import is on Amazon UK, no price yet but it should be there soon as the its released in the US tomorrow.

Seems odd they have gone to the expense of multiple European language subtitles when they are only releasing it officially in Germany in Europe.

As I posted I presume sales of BOBW were poor otherwise they would have taken the cash from the extra sales here.

Received my copy of TNG Season 4 today and yet again they have decided to change the layout, gone are the Irish rating logos which were added to Season 3 but instead of putting the 'Season Four' spine text back to how it was on Season 1 and 2 it has been left as it was with Season 3

If they were going to carry on putting the Irish rating logos on the packaging for Seasons 3-7 then I could sort of understand it but why only include them on Season 3 then drop them

You could be right about the poor sales (I don't know where to check for this info though)

I believe the content of the Star Trek discs are the some worldwide and the only difference is the age rating that they print on the topside of the disc. So it wouldn't be to much effort or expense and I'm guessing the German retailer had to pay for exclusivity which would cover some of the cost.

It was almost exactly the same for BOBW. I imported the US release, and the problem was solved.

But even in Europe for the regular season releases : it seems that almost all of the sets in the biggest markets have the same discs : France, UK, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Except that prices get be quite different : it would cost me twice the money to buy the French set for any of the 3 1st seasons (69.99€) than an Italian one (28€ currently). 4th season is pre-orderable in France for 69.99€, in Italy for 38€.

Compared to previous seasons even the UK release of Season 4 is £8-10 cheaper, not sure why they felt the need to discount it but pleased they did, coupled with a £10 voucher that Amazon sent me it has turned out to be the cheapest set yet at just over £33 but Enterprise Season 2 will be the bargain of the year in a few weeks thanks to the promo price of just £22

Redemption is now up on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace but the prices are around £13 + shipping, so it is cheaper to buy direct from Amazon.com at $12.99 + shipping.
Gone for that even though it will take a few more days to arrive.

Got my Season 4 BD today. Still near the start of season 3 though so it'll be a while before I'm watching any of it.

Slipcover spine nerds will be delighted to know that the Irish rating logo added onto the season 3 release is not on the season 4 release but the 'season four' writing is still on two lines, so it doesn't line up completely:

All four seasons of TNG released so far are currently on sale on Amazon.it for about 30 euros a pop (there is a standard 7 euro charge per order for shipping to the UK). The sets are practically identical to the UK ones, the discs even have BBFC logos, and the layout of the packaging design is the same, albeit with the text in Italian of course (all four sets I ordered came with slipcases). The shipping from Amazon was very quick, and the order process is the same as UK Amazon too.

If you have none of the sets and order all four at once, you save a bit on postage, so it comes in at about £108 delivered to the UK (roughly £27 per season). The two Enterprise season sets are even cheaper at the moment too, but I have the UK versions of those, but I can imagine they will be direct ports of the UK sets as well.
