Excluding a few porn movies I saw as a teen....

The best experience would be as a 10 year old seeing Goldfinger.

@nd Place would be seeing Pinocchio as a 5 year old.

I would have to say Scooby-Doo. I have always been a huge fan and I thought the movie had to right atmosphere for the drive-in experience.

Also, I have seen some terrible movies at the drive-in. It is closed down now.

Seen some shocking films at the drive-in, and always had a great time! I'm planning on taking the kids to one soon. It's probably a forty-five minute drive from where I am.

I'm taking my projector outside this upcoming summer and having some double feature nights to re-live the experience. I'm looking forward to it!

The only movie I can remember seeing at a drive in was Mad Max beyond thunderdome. I was about 7 years old

Funny you should mention Mad Max. Probably my most memorable experience was in 1981 seeing The Road Warrior in a very altered state of consciousness. My mind was blown away. Another time my devout Christian dad who hates movies took me to a Superfly/ Enter The Dragon double feature. I enjoyed the movies but it was kind of bizarre.

I saw Grease at the drive-in during its re-release in 1998. There's something cool about seeing a movie at a drive-in that actually takes place at a drive-in, especially as this particular drive-in still used those intermission promos for the snack bar that you see in the background of Grease with the marching popcorn and the hot dog diving into the bun (at which point everyone would always honk their horns )

Woodstock. We had live rock bands play in front of the screen in the afternoon, followed by the movie after sundown.............. of course the sound sucked by today's standards...... but we still had a great time

Definitely Star Wars, remember seeing Superman and Close Encounters too. Worst was Grease cause it was just painful as a child, though I love it now.

Plan to go to the local drive-in here this summer, wish they showed older movies though.

My worst Drive-in experience as a child, was being taken to see West Side Story. I just didn't get it.

I haven't been to one in almost 20 years but I saw the Rock and Twister together. Blew my mind with awesome.

I know I was conceived at an Empire Strikes back Drive in screening.

There's still a Drive-In near my hometown. When I go home each summer, I try to at least catch a double feature. Last year was Guardians of the Galaxy b/w Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I saw Wall-E and The Dark Knight, back in the day.
There's also a local film festival that shows one classic double each summer. Last year, which I missed was A Hard Day's Night and Jaws. One year John Waters curated a showing of Psycho and Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

The in car activity prevented me from seeing the movie on a few occasions but I cant complain. $4 for 90-120 minutes of time is nice.

TCM: The Next Generation and Pootie Tang at the drive in.

Worst was probably The Hills have Eyes. Kinda not paying attention to the movie or the world outside of the car and some dipsh!t runs full speed (on foot) into the side of my car scaring the life out of us. So much for peace.

Some of the double features I saw at the drive in off the top of my head were:
Octopu$$y and The Wrath of Khan
Up From The Depths and Piranha
An Eye For An Eye and The Howling
Blade Runner and Body Heat
First Blood and Mad Max
Great Times.

My parents took me to see JAWS at the drive in. This was back in '75 when Jaws first hit theatres. God, brings back memories. I remember the snack bar. You'd park your car in the spot and walk over to the snack bar. Not only did you buy your drinks and popcorn and whatever to eat, but you'd also buy this thing that was in the shape of a stove burner coil, that you'd light in the car to keep the Mosquitos away The audio was like a clunky sliver walkie talkie box that would hang on your window. I vividly remember my dad, mom and me in the front seat of the old ford ltd. We were scared to death because we were all squeezed in the front of the car, and Jaws was such a claustrophobic movie! That had to be the best movie experience I ever had with my parents!

Did your dad scream out "I AM YOUR FATHER" when he "planted the seed"?

Yeah, there was a few films back then I only saw bits and pieces of when taking a break from "in car activity". The drive-in I went to would have a double feature and then a third bonus show on the weekends so you'd be there until, like, 3 in the morning sometimes.
