It does show which method gets more exposure.

Actually working is another story.

That's because the PS3 hasn't been selling well and the ad was focusing on games which the PS3 is lacking right now. Maybe this PS3 will change things, maybe it won't. We'll see. I'm glad I bought my 60GB PS3 when I did...

This is not about the console wars, but this format war.

PS3 sales have shot through the roof after the 40GB PS3 was launched in other territories, while it's undeniable the PS3 has pushed Blu-ray sales up hugely.

50k A2's at Wallmart may grab headlines on these types of forums, but out in the real world the big news is the $399 PS3, which will impact the format war greatly.

Great point. I think the number of disks sold will definitely go up for BD. I'm sure that the HD-DVD will gain to but I'm seeing this 4th quarter as mostly BD dominance.

The new ads on the PS blog look awesome! I just wish the BD playback was even longer.. it lasted maybe 2 or 3 seconds on the ad, but if they want to really advertise it more prominently, they need entire commercials showing nothing BUT the PS3 BD playback.

I got 1 for you, NOT EVEN 1 A-2 left at any Best Buy in TEXAS or the rest of the US. CUZ THERE WERE NOT EVEN 50-100k to go around , it was way less cuz these 99$ A-2's were left overs, nobody as of about 1:00pm had any in store/shipping to buy so there while it looked good it really was not, I know there are some people that bought them, but was way less than thought before so this sale wont even show up Its not like they produced hundreds of thousands of A-2's just for this. This was just to clear shelves

I bet if Sony made White PS3's and renamed them Apple, it would sell like crazy.

Just to reinforce how PS3 is going to become an increasingly poweful weapon for Blu-ray, rather than fade away as some would have you believe, here's another positive story.
