I love Facebook. It's better if you have many friends cos people post interesting stuff. And of course to connect with old friends back home in my country, and also family definitely. And a good place to save pictures.
I know many stuff bcos people posted it. And i hate G+. I have Twitter but don't really care about it. I love Instagram as well. |

I have had MySpace/Facebook/Twitter and some of the other smaller ones over the years but I honestly get bored with them really quickly. It may seem mean but I usually give a fig less what someone is doing, even celebrities. I'm just not interested in short burst communication. At least with boards like this I can engage in a conversation and get something out of it (most of the time) instead of little snippets of something.

I use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, SoundCloud and LinkedIn. I’ve recently signed up to Vine, too. (@gardeady / Gar Deady on all of them if you want to add!)
I would be on Facebook and Twitter an awful lot. By that I just mean I’d be refreshing my feeds several times an hour, no posting/tweeting. Twitter is amazing. If you follow accounts where your interests lie, it provides brilliant information to you that’s faster, more often than not, than any other platform. I follow tech sites, footballers, musicians, golfers.. Basically all my interests. I would encourage everyone to use Twitter at least once. Sign up and give it a go. Follow people you know you’ll be interested in, or companies/brands etc that you like, and just take it from there. You don’t have to ever tweet! And it doesn’t matter if you never get followed! Your timeline will be a constant flow of information that will interest you, as you’ve picked who you want to follow. |

never used facebook or twitter. and i don't plan on using them. imo, they are a colossal waste of time.
the same could be said of this place. but here this is way less bickering and whining than what i've seen from friends who've sent me emails/texts about all the stupid sh!t they've seen or read on facebook or twitter. of course i tell them to please stop sending me that crap because i have no interest whatsoever in anything that happens on facebook or twitter. most of it reminds me of the drama of high school which was dreadful pretty much the whole time. and if i had a job that required me to get a facebook/twitter account, then i guess i'd be looking for a new job because i simply would not get one of either. |

I have a FB account and use it a lot. Don't have many friends though (exactly 100) and most of them are people from work, my family and a few friends from various fora that I belong to.
I never automatically add people that send me a request...and when I do add someone I remove an existing one. It's a great way to weed out the deadwood that don't post anyway. Twitter? Naw......can't get used that what I think is a jumbled mess. Besides, I don't feel like following anyone. |

I have FB, Twitter & of course this wonderful forum. I use FB to stay in touch with friends who are not local & it allows me to keep in touch with my family when I'm deployed. I don't tweet much but believe it or not it's a good place to catch breaking news. Lastly, I use this more forum than anything.

I've done a complete turnaround in the last 6 months.
I used to be pro-Facebook and anti-Twitter, these days you can't get me off Twitter. Facebook is handy for family stuff etc but it got very dodgy when everyone at work had each other as friends. You have a staff night out or some event and things get said on Facebook or photos get published that you may not be happy with. I work in a place where we really can't discuss work-specific details and too many colleagues would do this and recieve warnings at work for not following privacy rules. Eventually I deleted all work colleagues and now only have family and very close friends. Twitter on the other hand never ever appealed to me but my best friend really pushed me into trying it and I'm glad he did. If you're into a specific thing like films, sports, music etc Twitter can be excellent at getting in touch with like-minded people and forming "friendships" to share opinions on the latest stuff. That kind of thing didn't happen on Facebook, if I'd have mentioned on Facebook that Scream are releasing a collectors edition of The Fog - no-one would've responded. But the type of people you follow and who follow you on Twitter are interested in that kind of stuff because you form your friends to suit your tastes more. The mechanics of Twitter like Retweets and Hashtags are a little puzzling at first but if you stick with it and watch how others use it - it soon becomes easier. I find people on Twitter are more genuine and open to discuss things that interest you. Facebook just gets a little dull with Happy Birthdays and "look what I had for dinner". Anyway, that's my thoughts. My Twitter is in my signature - Follow if you want (if you do let me know you're off this forum) ![]() Last edited by rybev; 07-05-2013 at 02:59 PM. |

I've found since I've started using Twitter I don't have much use for a lot of the news sites I used to go to, as most of the news I want I get from people I follow, and usually straight from the horse's mouth when entertainment is concerned.
I rarely tweet anything, but I love Twitter as like I said I get up the minute updates on things I care about in a to the minute format, and I've got a healthy dose of news, humor, music and movies in a constant stream. I've become a much more consistent Facebook user over the past couple of years as I've caught up with old friends from states I've moved from and coworkers I no longer see regularly. Plus now that a lot of people I know are having kids it's nice to see how they're progressing. It's so dangerous though. |

I recently logged back onto Twitter after nearly a 3 year hiatus and I'm still not entirely impressed with it but Facebook, much like Myspace, lots its appeal.
I used Facebook solely for instant messenging and that's it. Anyhow, I ended up erasing (not deactivated) my account earlier this week. Good riddance! As mentioned by BStecke, Twitter combines a lot of my news feeds which is super convenient. This saves me from having to bookmark 2341243 sites and checking each out individually throughout the day. I'm also partial to Instagram and I check that frequently. http://instagram.com/kevinrbellamy Last edited by kevinbellamy; 07-17-2013 at 07:51 PM. |

These days, I'm pretty much on:
Max Lucado devotions (But that's not really a social networking site, you just read devotions on it). I'm also on some other Christian devotional websites This site (Blu-ray) Goodreads Deviantart We heart it Tumblr FaithBook (the Christian alternative to Facebook) YouTube (I don't really talk to anyone else in there, I just favorite videos, mostly) As for Facebook, I did used to go on it but now I find it overrated. I don't have a twitter account, but I take a peep every now and then at some of my favorite celebrities accounts and see their pictures. I leave a forum if A: I feel that I've said all that I wanted to say or B: If I lost interest in it. I also tend to leave a forum if no one will respect my opinions and views. I don't really get the point of fighting in a forum, what does it accomplish? (Rhetorical question) I'm a Taylor Swift fan so I'm thinking about signing up for her community, Taylor Connect.
