"Turn," From AMC Studios, Writer and Showrunner Craig Silverstein ("Nikita") Executive Producer Barry Josephson ("Bones," Enchanted)

Production is scheduled for 4th quarter 2013 expected to premiere on in 2014.

Based on the book "Washington's Spies," written by Alexander Rose, "Turn" is set in the summer of 1778 and tells the story of New York farmer, Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America's fight for independence.

"Turn," also from AMC Studios, was developed and written by Craig Silverstein ("Nikita") who also serves as series showrunner. The pilot was directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes). Barry Josephson ("Bones," Enchanted) from Josephson Entertainment is executive producer.

The series stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, King Kong, The Adventures of Tintin) as Abraham Woodhull, Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) as Judge Richard Woodhull, Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises) as Major Hewlett, Daniel Henshall (The Snowtown Murders) as Caleb, Seth Numrich ("The Good Wife") as Ben Talmadge, Angus MacFadyen (Braveheart) as Robert Rogers, JJ Feild (Captain America: The First Avenger) as Major John Andre, Meegan Warner as Mary Woodhull and Heather Lind ("Boardwalk Empire") as Anna Strong.

Interesting that the creator of Nikita develops a period drama for AMC.

I think he must have asked WB/The CW for the shorter episode order on Nikita so he could begin working on this show. If Nikita got a full 22 episode order, they would be working until Spring 2014.

I have to see a trailer for this 1st before I can make an assessment. The written synopsis isn't really telling me much.

I think I might enjoy this. I love that era & our history. Hopefully it will be a great story-teller! Can't wait to see (if/when) a trailer of 'Turn'.

Wow this show sounds great! Not a big fan of shows like Nikita but AMC never disappoints.

Maybe at one time but ratings are looked at much differently these days...people often watch shows on demand, DVR or what not..they factor that in.

Does anybody know why season 2 was never released on blu ray? Season 1 was released over a year and a half ago

It was released on DVD a long time ago. No Blu because weak sales of season one.

Stumbled upon this series. Blind bought the first season and thought everything about it was outstanding (acting, scenery, story). Went ahead and bought seasons 2 & 3 DVD (no bd releases

) on ebay. According to many Amazon reviewers the seasons only get better

. Can't wait to watch both 2 & 3 seasons and eventually season 4.

If you like History/American Revolution I'd recommend checking this out.

I don't have Netflix, but it might be available there ?

TURN: Washington's Spies, is now available on Netflix. This 4-season, 40 episode rather epic series about the American Revolution has just concluded. Has a good ending! Strong cast, excellent production design, interesting stories based on real-life history, intense action and clever spy stuff. Recommended!

All four seasons are out on blu in Germany. Not sure if they're A-friendly though so might only be an option if you're region-free.
