Default No Blu, No Wal-Mart

I just happened to stop by Wal-Mart today just to see if they've expanded there blu-ray section just like a few people have posted lately and since there has been alot of great releases lately to. So when I get to electronic section what do I see. NOTHING!!! Not one single blu-ray movie. So now thats 2 Wal-Marts next to me that don't have any. There is another one 30 min away. Maybe I should go and see what they're doing.

It's hit or miss i think.
I have 2 walmart's in my city, they are maybe 10min apart.
1 of them has almost every BD release.. they have 4 shelves full of blu-ray and down to 2 shelves for HD-DVD.
The other Walmart had 3 blu-ray titles, and nothing for HD-DVD.

I didn't ask anybody. The ladies that were there looked like they wouldn't have a clue of what I'm talking about. Good news is there was no HD-DVDs also.

Can you imagine buying your first $99 HD DVD player but no movies to play on it?

I may have to start a boycot to.

My WalMart use to have 90% BlueRay and 10% Dummy discs. Then it went to 50/50.

This weekend with all the madness over that A2 deal it's gone to about 40% BlueRay and 70% dummy discs.

Anybody got the number or address for Walmarts BlueRay division? I want to send them a letter to get them to start working right.

My local Walmart had got rid of all their HDM but now have a new HDM movie sectiion with 3/4 being Blu-Ray. Before they only carried about 7-8 Blu-Ray titles and no HD-DVD. They carry HD-DVD now but they also carry many more Blu-Rays now.

I have 2 Wal-Marts within 30 min drive. One of them has like 20 blues and 5 DUD's. The other one has no HD media and the woman working there had no clue what a Blu-Ray was. In her exact words. What's that? In all fairness that store is in an area heavily occupied by migrant workers.

The Wal-Marts near me have almost nothing to speak of. Now granted I haven't checked one out in months since it is not a priority for me to shop there, even when they have stuff on sale at a really good price. The place just creeps me out. I don't see Wal-marts carrying any movies with regularity until the format really takes off.

It's the same here. One Wal-Mart will have about 30 titles of each. Another will have 10 Blu-Ray and 3 HD DVD. Yet another has zilch...and I have yet to see a Blu-Ray standalone.

Most of our WM's have a few of each...however most of the players..Blu and HD sit for long stretches of time..plus none of our WM's offer any big elaborate HDM promo displays...

HDM has a long way to go (at least iin our area) to entice the masses.
