I'm pretty sure it is more of a Netflix thing though. They didn't offer special features for HOC on disc but they offered exclusive commentaries for each episode ONLY on Netflix. Netflix doesn't want to allow a set with the episodes AND Features otherwise there is no incentive (other than seeing it earlier) to watching on netflix.

I'm glad this is getting a release, and I added the BDs to my Netflix queue. Hemlock Grove, so far, is the only Netflix original programming not to get released on disc. Hope that changes soon.

Yes. the girl on the show that ran track. She played a cop that was involved with the shooting that paralyzed the 14 year old kid.

The truth is we don't know what deal Netflix has worked out with their distribution deal. Lionsgate produces Orange and Netflix distributes it. It's not much different than Warner Brothers producing something that airs on CBS -- except broadcast deals are usually fairly standardized. We don't know what deals Netflix has put in place. Did they produce the commentaries for HOC? Did Sony produce those and give Netflix the rights to have them? Not sure we know the answers. Regardless the BDs for WEEDS were usually packed so I could see there being extras on the BD as well as exclusives for Netflix. The point is we don't know yet if the HOC commentaries was something Sony worked out with Netflix or if that's going to be a standard for them. The fact that FOX hasn't released a DVD/BD for season 4 of Arrested Development tells me that the deals Netflix strikes could very well be specific to each series they produce or license.

House of Cards was produced by Media Rights Capital. They did the commentaries too. I don't think Netflix had much say in what supplements were produced there, they're mainly just the streaming distributor (Sony being the physical disc distributor). With Lionsgate both producing, and physically distributing Orange, things could very well be different, we don't know at this point as mayorofsmpleton says.

This show has one of the most perfect casts on TV. Even Jason Biggs, who I normally don't like, is good on the show.

I don't think it got delayed. The street date was never officially announced by the studio, so Amazon's listing was more of a guesstimate.

I'll hold out for a price drop, but I'm glad this is getting a release. Gives me a little hope for season 4 of Arrested Development.
