I hesitate to say it in case there are any tiny glitches I haven't noticed but from what I've seen so far, CARRY ON CLEO looks very nice. It helps that they filmed on the CLEOPATRA sets, giving it the best production values of the series.

You are mistaken, there are only 27 Carry On's

Noticed Zavvi have 'Jack' down for a July7th release, that's the last of the HD TV showings, anyones's guess as to the next release after that, StudioCanal are a little shy on letting us know anything

I saw them all at the cinema up to & including Carry On Camping, then I gave up. I think the one I enjoyed the most was Carry On Cleo. I'm sure I remember Carry On Jack as being an A certificate, but I could be wrong.

Received my copy of Carry On Jack today, haven't seen it in a few years so really looking forward to it, might even get it autographed by Bernard Cribbins next weekend when he is at LFCC.

They are available for a fair bit less than that if you shop around.

I managed to get Cleo and Screaming for £8.50 each, Jack for £11.50 and Cowboy for £11.30

One of my happiest memories is working on Carry On Camping doing what they now call ADR, so I spent more than a week in the re-recording studio and met all of the gang. Joan Sims was my favourite, lovely lady, made me laugh a lot. Bette Marsden took me to the bar and got me drunk!
The censor wouldn't let us use the line from Kenneth Williams to Hattie Jaques when she told him she was having trouble with her tent. "Ah yes ,matron" he said " the erection is fairly simple. It's getting it to stay up that counts!"
No way censor screamed! Cut it!

Good news. The first four films are coming to Blu-ray in Australia on November 9 as a collection. Implies that more will be coming if this sells well!

Also some Doctor films he was in. Doctor in Trouble (the cruise ship one) being my favourite.

Shame that's probably all the films Via Vision could release. They did release the Rank films on DVD, but doubtful on BD.

I think the fact that there's still stock available of all three 18 months after the release of the first and despite an extra-limited run of the third probably goes to show sadly that the days of Carry On films on physical media are well and truly over.

Sadly agree with you and hence can see why ITV won't invest in HD restorations of the Carry Ons they own.

Is it only Camping and Up the Kyber that ITV restored as Britbox exclusives (although from April those become ITVX Premium exclusives as they merge Britbox into ITVX and kill the standalone brand in the UK).

Am personally amazed that Studio Canal restored all 12 of their Carry Ons as these are very much niche British films these days with limited international appeal.

They have though also restored other films of that era such as the three b/w St Trinians films (not the colour one though that seems to be linked to both Studio Canal and ITV).

Agree the demand isn't there as the third boxset is only 1,000 copies but I guess sales are low as it has 3 colour Carry Ons which Studo Canal released standalone on BD in the UK years ago so most people interested had already purchased those. Even the tempter of the press book for all 12 films which is very exhaustive obviously didn't help sales greatly.

Not sure the earlier two boxsets were limited or if they were they had much higher edition sizes but for those only 1 film was a repeat of what already available standalone.

Britbox/ITVX did Camping, Khyber and Abroad, but the streaming hits weren't enough to continue funding the rest.

I am flabbergasted at these low sales. This is Carry On - one of the longest and most beloved British franchises in history. Even popular here in the US.
Prices are not exorbitant either. Maybe because this is a famous UK franchise that is being released by an Australian company might be limiting its exposure?

I can't explain it, but was really hoping that - one day - all the Carry On films would be available on HD.
