Same as the steelbooks for Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, they were UNCUT but were the same Version as the Theatrical release in the US. Meaning they didn't Cut anything for this release

A shame this bombed. Not only is this Arnold's best movie since Eraser (and maybe even True Lies), but this is probably the first time in Arnold's career where he actually played a character and pulled it off. I don't know if it's cuz the guy is so far removed from his heyday, but I actually bought Arnold as the character. I didn't see "Arnold", I saw "Jack".

I hear a lot of action fans say the same thing about Jean Claude Van Damme, but his movies are the absolute worst when it comes to modern day action movie cinematography (shaky-cam, quick cuts, close-ups, overused color filters) and I just can't sit through them. I saw his latest Universal Solider and my problem with the him having less than 10 minutes of screentime notwithstanding (I think Scott Adkins is pretty good), everything about it was terrible (in particular, that strobe light effect they kept doing make me physically sick). So yeah, it's gonna be a while before I give Van Damme's recent DTV stuff that he's been doing the last 12 or so years another chance.

TLDR: This movie would've been huge if Arnold had made it in '89, '92', '95 or maybe even '98 (the years he didn't release any films).

Personally, I thought the ending was the best. Arnold doing his old school thing WITHOUT the 80's cheesy stuff. Just hardcore, dark, gritty badass-ness. I look forward to seeing the alternate endings though.

I really want to see that 3 hour cut. I enjoyed the movie, but I think everything would have gelled together better with some missing information filled in.

Damn it, no directors cut though. Great artwork though, I will be ordering this release instead.

This movie is a rare bird, it became an instant classic Arnold.I put it with Predator, Conan, Total recall and all his best.

I would throw it in with End of days, the 6th Day and Collateral Damage. It had potential but just didn't meet expectations.

I like End of Days! Guilty Pleasure for me, Arnold + Supernatural Phenomenon = Win in my Book! I loved Sabotage, Dark and Gritty plus intense!

I like all of Arnie's films in different ways, I had high expectations for those films I listed including this one. It didn't meet them but they are still fun to watch. Arnie was great in this one, without him being in this I don't think I could have made it through the runtime. Hoping a directors cut happens somewhere down the line.

I agree with this. Arnold made the movie more tolerable than it would have been otherwise. I thought this one was merely OK, but nowhere near the same league as Commando, Predator, Terminator 2, etc.

Agreed. True Lies is overrated. Had Arnold made this in '95 instead of nothing at all, it would have been huge.

As far as I'm concerned, the scene where Curtis drops the machine gun and it fires as it falls down the steps, and manages to hit something like 10 bad guys but not her, would've been fine in "Last Action Hero" the year before. Arnold has his first real failure when Last Action Hero bombs in '93, while Stallone finally delivers a one-two punch with the double success of Cliffhanger and Demolition Man the same year. Arnold, clearly still big on his ego, decides he can't let Sly finally take his throne. So he called Cameron up (while Cameron was probably doing some deep sea underwater stuff in preparation for Titanic) and told him that he can't let Sly beat him. Cameron sighs and says "Call me back in 3 days". So Cameron lazily rushed out an action movie script with all the tropes (as well as outdated racist villains), and they shot it on the quick just to make Arnold happy. Maybe Cameron owed Arnold a favor.

oh and "True Lies" a lazy film??? that was one of Arnold's BEST

Arnold gave his 100%. Cameron on the other hand seems like he phoned it in. IMO the dude hasn't wanted to make action movies since 1991.
