Nice review A. So its not bad after all. Pity about the audio. It will tide me over until the NL release as i feel this film deserves a decent audio track. Thanks for the quick review.

I was disappointed with the softness of the picture on the blu-ray release. I'm really hope that the US is superior and region free.

Has anybody seen the German release yet which was released by Senator Home Entertainment in August? If Germany got lucky and ended up with a completely unfiltered picture like they did with Silent Hill I'd definately pick that copy up.

Don't want to buy it if it's the same as the UK copy though.

im pretty sure New line blu rays are going to be region coded , hence the later release date of the hd dvd copies of Hair Spary and shoot'em up.

Someone here or in AVS mentioned that the U.S release will use a different encode. Let's hope that the U.S release does well.

I've read that the encode lacks the terrible filtering that was on the UK release.

Often with day & date titles they will be region locked if the cinema releases are fairly recent, with Cars it was because when the US blu-ray was released it had only just left the cinemas in the UK.

I'm hoping that with Pan's Labyrinth being a catalogue title that they'll decide not to lock it.
