Pan's Labyrinth Blu-ray

Pan's Labyrinth Blu-ray Review

New Line Cinema is set to release it on DVD in the USA, no word on a Canadian release yet. Odds are it will be Alliance Atlantis.

I would love to see this one on Blu-Ray but knowing that New Line Cinema is on board to use Total HD. I guess that's not good news. :-/

No Blu-News at the moment, it's only scheduled for a DVD release from New Line Cinema in the USA and Alliance Atlantis in Canada.

To date it has not been released. I have the same distrib. as major retailers and they only put up Titles that are 100% to be released (not the rumored ones) and to date that is not up there-the newest ones are movies like Shooter w/ Mark Wahlberg, We Are Marshall, Wild Hogs, The Lookout, Black Snake Moan. Hopefully in the coming months we will be seeing more and more Blu-Ray Titles Announced for Release.

Pan's Labyrinth a must have for HD(Blu-Ray)!!!
Its supposed to be coming out on regular SD DVD next week I think so if it is coming to HD (blu-ray) it wont be for a couple of months cuz they usually say in the commercial "Available on DVD and Blu-ray such and such date" and I didnt hear Blu-ray in the commercial.

I would LOVE to have this on Blu-ray. Great movie! Guillermo del Toro's best work in my opinion.

I thought it was a sony classic. even if it is warner, they offer BD, and new line is a branch of studio that is under warner. I don't see why they won't release it on BD?

New Line has yet to release any titles on either BD or HD-DVD. Until they do, it would be a while till this title will come out.

I've had the R3 Korean dvd since February. I didn't feel like waiting for a R1 release and I suspected an HD release to be a long ways off. Still, I'd love to see Pan's Labyrinth and Devil's Backbone on BD.

I think WB refers to New Line as a sister company, meaning they are under the same Time Warner company, however they are pretty much completely seperate. I believe they said they'll start releasing movies when the Total HD discs start being used more (like that will ever happen).

Does anyone know if this is coming out on Blu-ray? My girlfriend wants to see this movie very badly. I can buy it on DVD but if it's coming out for Blu-ray I will convince her to wait.

Thanks

There are other threads on this but I will answer and say nope, it is being put out by New Line, who have not made any HD Disc plans yet.

New Line Cinema got the rights to put the DvD out and they dont put out HD {Bluray/HD DVD} movies right now.Im unfortunatly gonna wait for the BR release to buy it,which hopefully wont be too long.

I hope that in a near future, we will see ALL the movies being released in every formats from day 1: DVD, HD-DVD and Blu Ray, so everybody is happy.

I can't believe that such titles as Star Wars, The Matrix trilogy, Lord of the Rings, etc, will be used as format War tools.

Why not just release them in both HD format so everybody is happy.

Those war attitudes are not good for the customers. Or at least, it is VERY frustrating for me who invested alot of money in a PS3 only to see that some of the best movies won't be released on blu ray. And the same thing applies to the HD DVD owners who can't enjoy POTC in HD, per example..

The fact that there are TWO HD formats is the reason why most people are not buying either formats up. Releasing for TWO formats like Warner and Paramount are doing is not helping matters. Microsoft throwing its massive bank vault in a subversive attempt to scuttle HD optical media and encourage HD-Lite for downloadables is beyond contempt.

The faster the war ends, the faster everybody can BE happy.

And what about the Total HD Disc? Could that be a solution?
