I just finished watching White Lightning, and I am about to watch Gator.

White Lightening is a fun 1970s backwoods flick that looks good on Blu-ray. Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty are both outstanding, and this movie has such a underrated cast of supporting actors (R.G. Armstrong, Matt Clark, Jennifer Billingsley, Bo Hopkins, etc.). The film never pushes the action to Spinal Tap 11 like contemporary car chase movies seem to do, but it benefits even more from a comfortable vibe of the sort that I could watch for hours and hours.

I grew up in Georgia and all of my relatives are from south Alabama. Although White Lightning is set in Arkansas, it captures the look and feel of my neck of the woods during the 1970s amazingly well. These rural chase movies from that decade are really something else.

I enjoyed the present-day Burt Reynolds interview in the supplements.

I was surprised how Tarantino-esque it feels now. Makes sense he screened that movie in his theater.

There appears to be multiple copies on eBay for under $9 shipped. Good deal.

That is a really great deal. I loved White Lightning but didn't like Gator as much. but WL is one of my favorite classic Burt films

Thanks for the heads up! Several other KL Studio Classics titles are also offered similarly priced...Quartermass Xperiment, Witness to Murder, Sam Whiskey, The Offense...gonna be snatching many of these up!

I've never seen Kinos that cheap. I would be very wary of them being bootlegs. I know the guy has high feedback, but most ebay buyers don't care about that sort of thing.

I got my $8.75 copy of White Lightning today, as well as Drum for $9.99, and they're the real deal. Most likely some sort of liquidation sale. Incredible bargain for these.

Interesting that the 2023 re-release is now on a BD-50 instead of the 2014 BD-25

That's Kino's MO, they do it with all of their re-releases of old titles, in addition to subtitles and slipcovers.
