Pixar Shorts Can't play since PS3 update 2.01 ! - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

Well, I just turned off the 24fps, and will wonders never freakin' cease! It now plays like a champ.... so I guess it's safe to say that everyone who said "nope, no problem here" was using it in 30fps (or 25 in europe)

I play at 24fps and I obviously have the issue... But fast forwarding works.

I was screwing around with Pixar Shorts last night. I've got a 60gb PS3 with fw 2.01. When I skip through the previews using the next button all the way through, the disc would lock up the PS3. But if I just fast-forward through the previews the disc always played through fine. Set the fast forward to 120x.

60p vs. 24p made no difference whatsoever.

So... uhh... bad news I guess. Pirates 3 suffers from the same issue. You need to fast forward through the previews in order to get the disc to load properly. I wonder how many complaints there will be about that tomorrow...

Eh.. I just hope that they fix this in a new update in time for the holidays since most of the new sales of PS3s and BDs are going under trees and the like.
I know all my BD purchases are being delayed until after Christmas, so my family has something they can buy for me.
