For those unable/unwilling to watch the video...

10. Interstellar - Dir: Christopher Nolan (Warner Bros)
10. Under the Skin - Dir: Jonathan Glazer (Studiocanal)
09. The Grand Budapest Hotel - Dir: Wes Anderson (20th Century Fox)
08. The Past - Dir: Asghar Farhadi (Artificial Eye)
07. Maps to the Stars - Dir: David Cronenberg (Entertainment One)
06. Pride - Dir: Matthew Warchus (Pathé)

Interesting to note that four on that list are British (co-)productions...

Shit, reminds me I've still got to watch The Past before the end of the year. I have it on BD so that won't be too difficult!

Interstellar was alright. I loved The Grand Budapest Hotel obviously, and Under The Skin is my number one film of the year (though I'm seeing Birdman on Sunday so that could change).

Maps To The Stars doesn't look much up my street but I will check it out at some point, and I missed Pride too (though it does look a little bit Brassed Off if I'm honest).

Already seen 4 of them, surprised Interstellar and Under the Skin made it to the list considering how lukewarm his responses were to them initially.

I kinda got the impression he admired what they were going for, rather than neccesarily liked the film. Though he didn't do that with Cloud Atlas, which was a film he initially disliked but appreciated the ambition behind it.

Maps to the Stars at number 7? That was a mess of a film. An interesting mess, but still..
The rest of the list is pretty good.

Can I just say, I hate it when they split these things into parts. I wish Mark would just do his top 10 in one go rather than build it up like this.

I guarantee it will be something 'cute' like Paddington or The LEGO Movie. Under The Skin deserves to be higher...cutting edge stuff, I reckon.

Changed it for you - just because you think it may be 'cute' doesnt mean it isnt a great film

I'm two months behind on the podcasts (they help me get to sleep) but I'm betting no1 is something British like Belle, Paddington or Frank (previous winners include Good Vibrations, Made in Dagenham and Berberian Sound Studio). Lego Movie will definitely be top 5 with something high brow like Winter Sleep, Leviathan or Imitation Game.
