I'll hold out for a HD Remastered version before I buy that...perhaps I am too tech saavy for my own good.
It's been 7 years...still holding out for that REMASTER..??

They certainly are far from perfect. The PQ is actually decent, but the AQ leaves a lot to be desired.

Upgraded 4 or 5 years ago for $5 by way of the DVD to Blu program. Not a great transfer but certainly worth that IMO. We watch it every year on Thanksgiving day and usually again before Christmas.

That mindset is exactly why DVD is still outselling BD.

So sorry you don't like my mindset.I buy what I want to buy. This is a movie I watch once a year. The DVD is good enough! If you want to upgrade everything knock your socks off.It wasn't a matter of choosing DVD or BD. If it was I would have bought the blu.I don't have the need to upgrade every DVD I own.And just for your info.I haven't bought a DVD in years.I only buy BD.

Agreed. The audio is terrible on this release. As popular as this movie is, I can't believe it was never re-visited, especially since this year was the 25th anniversary (how can it have been so long!)

That's Warner for you. They'll upgrade the audio on titles like Blazing Saddles and Million Dollar Baby, but won't touch Christmas Vacation.

Love love love this movie!! I use this as my avatar/signature line year around. It's my sister's and my favorite holiday comedy. Makes me smile just thinking about it! I'd definitely double/triple dip for a blu-ray improvement.

I wonder why. Is it because the Vacation movies all look like the cheapest productions ever made, with salaries in the sequels being where all the money went?

Or is it that Christmas movies always sell well and studios see no reason to spend anything on them to upgrade the home video experience?
