Tbh to me Zelda doesn't quite have the epic multi cultures armies clashing/ inter-crossing stories that LOTR has, which is not a fault, it's just (at least to me) a different scope.

These were the great movies that gave me the most "Zelda-ish" feeling, in particular Legend, with its innocence, great photography and while being almost child-like in how straightforward the story was it was (as Fairy Tales should be, as their theme should be strong enough to carry the story) also very interesting

None. Can't finish them. I've made it to the Master Sword in several of the games. I just lose interest in them, just get bored.

I don't like the games but I love fantasy stuff and I would hope the series, if it gets made, is actually interesting. So no, I'm not trolling this thread. I don't like the games but could see the potential of a series that actually had an interesting story and made the characters interesting. I absolutely love the Zelda series (it is my favorite video game series), but I can definitely understand how it is not for everyone.


Something I didn't mention before, I do not envy the creators of this at all. They are going to be under so much intense scrutiny from the fanboys (not fans, fanboys). Something as simple as what Link sounds like, not even just who is cast as him, will be a huge thing.

This could be either interesting... or not. There hasn't yet been a truly successful video game film adaption, perhaps TV will work out better?

I feel like this could have had real potential if it was animated. However honestly I can't really see how a live action version will be very good. I hope I am surprised, I am a huge fan of the games.

Hmm I must be the only one that gets a "Zelda-ish" vibe from Fellowship of the Ring.

I never seen Legend so I can't comment on that but since you said it's "Zelda-ish" I'll put it in my Netflix Q.

Played the first on Nintendo. Don't think I played any SNES Zelda game. Played Ocarina of Time on 64. Didn't play MM. Played Wind Waker. Last one I played was Twilight Princess.
