yeah, i'd wish they hadn't included it or they included something new in its place. (eg. The Old Maid, or The private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex, both Warner films of 1939)
haven't bought it yet.
I'd like to buy the release with the extras, and I'd like to buy this box too, but i don't like having 2 Gone with the Wind discs!

Or, The Roaring Twenties (1939), but I suppose some of these films haven't been worked on yet, & they might have serious element problems.

We're lucky they didn't bump another one that's never been released to blu-ray to make room for the Wizard of Oz.

Wonder if this is the start of a trend for WB: Year-centred box sets?

Not so great for us importers - guaranteed customs fees - but still good news overall.

Could be, but there is no other year like 1939, in terms of how much it has been discussed as the Golden Year.

Keep in mind, Stagecoach also came out that year. Wizard of Oz. And several others.

Ninotchka is the best Garbo, IMO, and one of my favorites. One way or the other, I will have it on blu-ray. So I may just buy this set.

Will get, day one.

Already own the Scarlett edition of Gone With The Wind but that will still not deter me from getting this set.

Don't care that much for Dark Victory, but I am an unabashed fan of Dodge City and Hunchback. At this point, I will take just about whatever they throw out in the way of 30s catalog titles.

Wonderful news! But yea, why GWTW and not something that hasn't been released before? Odd. Will still get this. Beautiful packaging.

Any word about whether the titles will be available individually too? I'd love to get Ninotchka, but I don't really want the others

True dat. My guess is that they are saving WoO and The Women for potential Vol. II.

Yeah I dont understand Warner logic on this either. Maybe they felt GWTW would help the sales of the set - although I can hear the groans of *not again*..
It actually helped me PASS on this set and just get Dark Victory

I might have bought this set if it included another 39 classic such as

Each Dawn I Die
The Old Maid
The Roaring Twenties
They Made Me A Criminal

But that's easier SAID than DONE since Im sure a lot of factors are part of the decisions ... Im guessing the Roaring Twenties isnt *suitable* for HD ?

Would have preferred "The Roaring Twenties" or "Each Dawn I Die" instead of GWTW

I know a DCP exists for "Angels With Dirty Faces" but that's 1937. There is also a DCP of "42nd Street" which should come to Blu-ray this year - after the TCM festival. I don't believe any other 30's Warner Bros. films have a DCP available presently.
