If you are of the age to have remembered the events as they happened you might have seen Walter Keane being interviewed. He was every bit as flamboyant as Waltz portrays him in the film. If anything Burton likely toned down his performance.

Hard to fathom, possibly, but true.

Is it possibly too big for the Blu case?

I blind bought this and absolutely enjoyed it, even though
[Show spoiler]it was so hard watching Mr. Keane filled with such jealousy, greed and dishonesty. Just heartbreaking.

I watched my copy today and really enjoyed it as well.

[Show spoiler]How far he ended up going was the biggest thing for me. I never expected him trying to burn both her and her daughter.

This movie was good.
But I have a question.
Even though it's a true story and based on actual events, the wife and I both questioned why (or how)
[Show spoiler] Margaret could have been so strong to be able to pick up and leave her first husband with literally nothing but her daughter in the back seat and her paintings in the trunk of a car, yet, she lost the courage to leave Walter?
It seemed out of character.
Usually its the other way around. First you're weak, then you learn and gain courage.

I think her life
[Show spoiler]became much more complicated with Keane, especially with the lie and charade both of them got involved in with regards to his/her art. Also, it is important to note the actual fact that Margaret met Walter in Sausalito before she divorced Frank Ulbrich. Margaret later told Time Magazine they fell in love and she left Ulbrich because of that.

Oh OK. See, that makes sense.
Thanks. Good to know.
[Show spoiler]
So how and when she met Walter in the film isn't entirely accurate. So in a way, she was in love with Walter while still married to Frank? Did they purposely leave that out of the film so she doesn't look bad/like a liar?

The movie and Burton does put Margaret in a very shining light.
[Show spoiler]There is not a lot of information regarding her relationship with Ullrich, but by the time Keane came along, her marriage may have been a loveless one.

The movie is not 100% accurate and if you get a chance to read what Walter's daughter, Susan Keane, from his previous marriage says about the truth is intriguing and certainly conflicts with the version told in the film. But of course, she's daddy little girl.

My local Target does (for the same price which explains why Amazon has it at 5 bucks right now).
