Default movie rating difference

Good comments. Thought of a few more some people probably forgot. Fx and fx2. Stakeout and shakeout 2. Charlie's angels and part 2 on DVD is unrated.expendables 3. Pg13 or unrated on disc. Good listing for young guns and major league also. Police academy was R for first film. Pg13 for second and from 3-7 was pg. I think they should of kept them all pg13. Would of been raunchier and maybe a little funnier. Wall Street rated r then sequel was pg13.

Rocky V is the only pg-13 entry of its series. Alien vs. Predator is the only pg-13 movie out of either franchise with its sequel being R as well. Superman Returns should count as well, being a pg-13 sequel to the pg Donner films.

Major League 2 i know has been mentioned, but i have to say it may also be a VERY rare example where the PG rated follow up to an R rated original is vastly superior! My friends and I endlessly quote 2, barely remember 1! (Plus i have a soft spot, it was filmed at Camden Yards in Baltimore and my pops, bro and I were all in the stands for 1 of their all night shoots!)

That is because the 12 rating (brought in for Batman) did not exist for the home media market. Something that has been changed since but no one has gone back to remove any discrepancies.

But another one from the UK, Star Wars OT is all "U", Phantom and Clone are PG and Sith is a 12.

Police Academy was rated R (lots of swearing, nudity, etc.), Police Academy 2 was PG-13, the rest of the series was PG as the series became popular with kids so the adult content was toned down.

The first fifteen Bond films were all PG, from Licence to Kill onwards they are all PG-13.

Mission: Impossible is a PG, MI2 is a 15, and 3 & 4 were both 12A (same with Rogue Nation, I assume).
