AUJ was $14.99 twice and each time it was a couple of days. TDOS has actually never been chapear than $19.99. That's what the price tracker indicates.

Place money on it as this is Warner.

Doubt it. Warner would never spend a dime over what is necessary. The deleted scenes are stored in some vault in the USA. Scanning them is expensive. I suppose there would be only reason to go back for that if a 3D conversion would be undertaken for LOTR.
Before that, everything will be repacks.

When is The Hobbit: Abridged 3 1/2 hour trilogy coming out? That's the only version I want to purchase. It's funny I want to pay more for less from the filmmakers.

Warner is the king of re-releases so yeah we will see probably 3-4 different versions of all 6 films.

Been waiting for this... now to see whether they will release an extended trilogy set at the same time as well.

Also, I wonder how long before a saga set is released with all 6 extended editions.

And, will that set have special edition-ized versions of LOTR (replacing Bilbo and Gollum flashbacks in FOTR with scenes from the Hobbit).

The real question is will Jackson/Warner convert the LOTR trilogy into 3D? There's a ton of money that can be made. (Partly because I'm weaksauce and will buy it.)

yet we still have NOT seen the many unreleased deleted scenes from the Harry Potter movies. Warner does not realize that they could make so much money if they would release those scenes. They could even release them online through iTunes etc if they were worried about packaging. I am actually kinda shocked that they have not released them already, especially considering that the Order of the Phoenix's deleted scenes were some of the worst and most pointless deleted scenes I have ever seen for any movie (check them out here

especially the Trelawny eating her food scene… I have to wonder, what they were thinking when they compiled the supplemental material for the movies when they compiled this list of scenes. We KNOW through trailer and other promotional material that they filmed A LOT more than that)

I've been patiently waiting for the extended trilogy set. Been dying to watch The Hobbit films again since I haven't seen them since opening night in theaters. The extended trilogy set will look nice next to my LOTR extended trilogy set.

I can see them releasing a complete saga set in a couple years maybe. Wonder how much that'll cost

Unpopular opinion, don't hate on me, but DAE think this trilogy should have been one movie?

You've got that backwards. It's actually the unpopular opinion that three films is fine (which is what I think). Most people seem to think they're too long.

Also, as was being discussed already, I'm sure there's gonna be some big gigantic Blu-ray / DVD box set of all six movies at some point.

And I'm gonna buy it.

Because I can't say no to LotR / Hobbit :P

I was being sarcastic, the whole "I'm waiting for someone the edit them into one movie" and "Peter Jackson is the new George Lucas" is a neverending circlejerk.

Right?

I know many people hate the look of TUJ and DOS, but I really appreciate their color pallete and beautiful quality on Blu-ray.

But BOFA? Jesus, it looks HORRIBLE.

Entire trilogy is locked at 2K.

A few benefits of UHD Blu-ray besides 2160p:

10 bit depth (no banding... better contrast ratio)
DCI-P3 cinema grade color
High Dynamic Range

On past form you'll be waiting until late July/very early August. We should get a press release with confirmation of the running time and some of the extras as well as a preview of one of the new scenes.
