Evreryone is on to the LOTR business model of 3 individual standard releases then a set then individual extended releases then an extended set.

Going to guess over half of us are just waiting for the extended set.

I liked the theatrical cut but there were some gaping holes, especially towards the end, so I'm really looking forward to this. IMHO, the Hobbit EEs have provided a much richer experience than the LOTR ones, which ruined the pacing of those perfectly edited theatrical cuts with too much unnecessary filler. Might just get the EE boxset for this, since I sold my DoS EE anyway.

What will be the big exclusives for the Hobbit Battle Of The Five Armies Extended Edition? Last time Best Buy had the one with a key & Target had a steelbook but what will be the exclusive for this movie?

I can't wait for this. I loved the theatrical cut well enough, but it clearly needs the extended edition. It's the only one of the six movies that I feel that way about.

I can't wait to see what statue will come with it.

Well I disagree with the notion that the Hobbit EE is better than the LOTR EE, but I love the world so much that I always want more. Even though I've been disappointed with the hobbit films. I still want to see as much of the world that Peter created before it ends. Plus, these sets simply have the best extras around.

It better have the 3d version for the extended version like it did with the first 2 movies if not, I'm going to be pissed and annoyed.

I gather this edition will not have the Dolby Atmos sound mix either

No otherwise it will fall out of the tone, with the previous releases. But I am sure in the (near) future we will have a re-release. Either on Blu-ray or UHD with Dolby Atmos.

I have to disagree. After I watched the LOTR EE i can't watch the theatrical any more. To me the EE are very much so superior, and that's saying a lot because I loved the theatrical versions when i first saw them.

Hope this eventually lowers the theatrical 3D to a more reasonable $19.99.

Don't count on it. The theatrical 3D releaes of An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug been high most of their run. AUJ has averaged around $25 and TDOS around $27. AUJ was $14.99 a couple times, but only for a few days.
