It's a Sony release, give it a few months and it will pop up region free somewhere in the world

It IS the norm for TT releases. The business model has proved to be a success, so they will stick with it. Besides I think Vampires will get a 5000 unit release, but order quickly

It's probably in the middle for me. Memoirs of an Invisible Man and The Ward are at the bottom for me, never seen Dark Star but from the looks of it that would probably join them, still even bad Carpenter is better than than most.

The first and third act of Vampires is great but that middle part is mind-numbingly slow and boring, everything just grinds down to a halt. If he was able to keep up the pace and tension during the second act, I think Vampires would be better looked at than it is now. Excellent use of practical effects though when CGI blood started its rein of terror. I also think Carpenter improved on some of the novel's aspects,
