I'm very happy I resisted ponying up for the Vudu HDX of Troll, it scared me to death as a kid.

This is just one of those "so bad it's good" series right? I can safely ignore it?

Cool. The adult version of me says "are you sure you want to get Troll"? But the kid that still lives in side me says "Yes. it was a weird creepy, fantasy B movie that we liked"

Troll 2 is a piece of shit... It's not so bad it's good, its just plain bad

That would describe part 2, even though I think it's just plain bad. Troll 2 was a sequel in name only. The post above described Troll well - "weird, creepy, fantasy B movie".

Hmm, I'll look into Troll then. Thanks.

Love Troll 2, there was a time a few years ago where I literally watched it at least once (sometimes twice) every day for a full week because I kept hanging out with different people who hadn't seen it and I just had to share. Everybody loved it.

I've already got it on blu though, so unless the cover art/slip (if there is one) is fantastic I'll probably be passing. And I never thought Troll was that great so I don't feel a real desire to own it

Look into it.

Come closer.

**** that video box alone gave me countless nightmares. Something about the design of the Troll in the movie (and the trolls in Ernest Scared Stupid) scared the absolute shit out of me as a kid. And then on top of that, that the little girl was possessed and turned evil. ****. And now that it's a footnote to Troll 2... I guess it's just disappointing because it will NEVER be that for me.

The transfer for MGM's Troll 2 blu is better than I expected. Never picked it up, but even if it's the same one I'll be happy to get the double feature. Never seen Troll.

Glad they will bundle both, as I really can not sit through 2, but do like to put it on for friends and sit back and watch the reactions.

Aw, I already bought the MGM release of Troll 2 a few weeks ago! It's a beautiful transfer, by the way, one that serves Claudio Fragasso's immortal masterpiece justice. I'll probably double dip if this offers anything in the way of extras, but I doubt it will. I don't see how you could top Best Worst Movie anyway.

I still haven't watched the first film. I just keep re-watching Troll 2.

It's funny how Troll 2 has fallen out of favour. For a while there, it really was the trashterpiece of horror cinema. In my house there was a time when everything was about Troll 2, but it had its day, and since humour is rooted in the unexpected, it gradually lost its magical power.

More than that, I got to hiding my blu-ray on the top shelf, because I grew so sick of the damned thing and my son would throw it on whenever he had a spare moment.

But for those who haven't seen it -- and I'm a bit surprised that would be anyone around here -- it is one of the most bewitchingly terrible movies of all time. And utterly hucking filarious.

I mean, there are just so many indescribably bizarre bits of dialogue, performed with amazing aplomb by the most amateurish collection of eccentrics -- uh..."actors" ever assembled.

"There's sandwiches in here for tonight...eat them or we'll be forced to kill you VIOLENTLY!"

Don't deny yourself this.

Having said that, and already owning the second one, I can't say I'm too interested in seeing Sonny Bono turn into a plant in HD.

Give us some serious extras and I'll consider it.

SF should go all the way and make this a quadruple feature of the entire Troll "saga:"

Troll
Troll II
Best Worst Movie
Contamination.7
aka Creepers aka Troll III.

That would be awesome.
As a side note, has anyone ever seen a print of Contamination .7 with the Troll 3 title? I've never seen one and would like to.

Aaaah! Last week I bought the MGM Troll/Troll 2 Double Feature DVD at a special sale-price on Amazon; inside knowlege perhaps?
My strategy: I'll watch them and see if it's worth the upgrade to Blu.

Rename it The Troll Trilogy.

Having The Best Worst Movie doc is not a bad idea and very easy to sublicense since it's own by Cinedigm and they currently distribute Shout! releases.

Again, "Troll 2" was only a name given to help with the marketing of the movie. If I remember correctly, it was given to the movie after it was finished to help with the marketing. I don't know if any of the cast and crew of Troll 2 even knew about the first Troll movie when they made Troll 2.

And speaking of "so bad they're good" movies, I really hope someone releases R.O.T.O.R. on blu ray:

We used to watch Troll 2 religiously back in VHS days. Personally I don't think it lost any of its magic and charm, but I was surprised to see Troll 2 not listed in IMDb's 100 Worst Movies anymore

I already have Troll 2 on Blu-ray. No point in getting a Shout Factory version. Look what they did to MGM's Mad Max.

Just watched Troll 2 LOL haven't seen it in forever!!
It kind of reminds me of a really long episode of Tales from the Darkside to be honest.
