I bought the first season on blu and was annoyed they stopped after season 2 but will probably get the complete series.

Lowest I've found online is $25. give or take.

Music cues have been replaced or cut out also. There's a patty duke show reference that was cut entirely from an episode that was a set up for a joke that now has no payoff.

Plus I wish they could have got Roseanne & John Goodman to cut a couple commentary tracks- yes I know they are busy, but how cool would it be to hear them on the pilot episode all these yrs later? 😉

The mill Creek episodes are not the syndicated cuts. I own the set and the runtime for the episodes are 2 to 3 minutes longer than what is currently on Netflix or the original season releases.

Yes, they were. The only major character change from the Pilot going forward was DJ's character.

That's true. Notoriously true for DVD sets. 21 Jump Street and Renegade spring to mind. I have the individual season sets, but couldn't complete those two series because the final season(s) were only in the complete series sets.

I am hoping that if the expense of mastering for Blu Ray counts then individual season sets will be released to maximize value/minimize costs.

The Mill Creek releases aren't, as far as I know. They were initially advertised as being the original broadcast copies.

There are still minor edits on the Mill Creek set, some music changes and after credit scenes. These were due to rights issues, and not the syndicated cuts. The Anchor Bay sets are still the best way to own the series as they have much better compression and some extras that didn't get transferred over. Only Season 1 used the syndicated versions of the episodes, although like the Mill Creek set, there are some minor edits in the last couple of seasons. During the Disney episode though the Mill Creek set did put back the correct song.

If you are really hardcore, you need to own the first, and last two seasons on Mill Creek, and the complete series on Anchor Bay.
