How else would Nintendo sell a download code? I've honestly never shopped for Wii U games in a physical store. I guess the real question is weather the first print has an actual disc for it or not. I agree it's pretty dumb to have a case for a code but it's not the first time. Ducktales Remastered did it on PS3 (but also had a collectors pin inside).
I know it's not the first time. Ducktales Remastered did get some backlash for it though, it was later re-released with a disc.

Pretty Pumped for this. So am I reading correct that the normal retail version will just contain a code for dl?

No big deal for me either way. Just different. I missed out on the Gamecube generation of Nintendo in general. Star Fax 64 was one of me favorite games on that console.

I love Star Fax 64 for the Gamecube! It's much better than Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 64.

The GameCube controller also helped it a lot than that weird alien-y "\|/" 64 controller.

No steelbook case? $60 price?

I'm not too bothered about the steelbook case or Project Guar-- I mean, Star Fox Guard. It looks like a budget eShop game reskinned as a Star Fox game.

The "normal retail version" of Starfox Zero will be a disc. The "normal retail version" of Starfox Guard will be a code in a case.

The first edition, sure. I don't see why the regular would be limited though.

Of course. The regular edition will be readily available, but the limited editions seem to really be just that, very limited.

Still kicking myself about the FE:F's package. Didn't even know about it until it was too late.

I'll stick to my £26 order. Don't care about the tech-demo included with the Special Edition.

If you are from Europe, just look on amazon France. It's available on there for 1 or 2 minutes every once in a while.

3DS is region locked so it's not much use importing games from Europe to America. Unless he'd have his O3DS/N3DS hacked.

Seems anybody that couldn't come to grips with the controls automatically panned it. There's an unfinished "review" at Polygon. The guy admits to not coming to grips and not being able to finish it so he couldn't assign a review score.

I was watching Trihex (awesome Yoshi's Island speedrunner. The shit he can queue up on a controller is amazing.) play last night and even after a couple hours in he was struggling.

Also odd that the day this comes out, Tatsuya Minami (head of Platinum) steps down. No word if he's still with the studio in a more hands on role or not. He's been widely quoted as missing the actual creation process.

I've been hearing that this has been getting less-than-favorable reviews.

I'm sure it'll be fine though. People seem awfully... I dunno, "entitled" this generation? Blowing things way out of proportion, throwing hissy fits over nothing, etc.

My copy's coming in the mail today so I can't wait to try it out after work. I can see why motion controls would be a little off-putting, I'm always thinking "what if I get an injury and can't play the game because of it", but I'll give them a shot.

Ive been waiting for another starfox game to come out. When Nintendo announced it, i was excited for it.
One thing i didnt know were motion controls. I hate motion controls with a passion. Why must they force it on us. Give us an option to turn it off
Now we all remember how Lair turned out.
Im afraid im gonna have to skip this game due to motion controls. Heres hoping they patch it but i really doubt it

But see that's the problem dyne. Any game with controls you have to "come to grips with" is ill conceived IMO. That means it's counter-intuitive and it requires gamers to sort of re train their brains just to play it.

True to an extent and I completely understand the point you're making. I'm sure the first time we all used analog sticks we had to retain ourselves. Was that bad control? No. Just something we weren't used to. Now we use them every day. The first time I used analog was with Nights on the Saturn. ****ing foreign. Soon enough I was S ranking that game.
