Wow, I guess they don't teach their employees the differences with the formats. How bad must he have felt if he actually went and posted a comment on the article

This has to be up there with Ted Steven's "series of tubes" explanation of the internet. Except Best buy brian is a lot more coherent and articulate.

http://tubes404.ytmnd.com/

Queue it up to minute 9 to here the tubes bit.

did he say that blu-ray is a thinner disk? what? they are the same thickness as DVD. ...unless of course he means from the outercoating to the layers, then yes it is thinner but with scratch resistant coating.
also fox being hd exclusive? haha they wish.
this martin guy is very misinformed and shouldn't preach what he don't know

Seriously......if any one out there who really needs the retail training......it is this guy.......upconversion is nothing about spinning the disc faster.....the upconverting DVD player’s video processor goes to work adding pixels to the DVD’s native resolution to fill up the HDTV's screen. To do so, algorithms copy parts of the surrounding pixels and interpolate what the DVD’s video should look like at a higher resolution.

Why not mention 50 g versus 30 g, or scratch resistant disc. You know important stuff not something as dumb as thickness? I am still laughing about that one,

Also made sound like blu-ray is more a kid thing "if your kids like Disney" well I also liked clockwork orange and I doubt that was a kids movie. Can he have confused J6P even more?

Look at the video again, when they show the price tag for HDDUD, it says puts out up to 1080i lol isn't TRUE HD 1080p which btw is under the Blu price tag

That video is offensive to film.

That's the same website that put out this other garbage article yesterday.

fox for instance is an hd-dvd exclusive..... funniest thing ive heard all day! that guy needs to do some serious training on research before spreading a bunch of bs on national televsion, he didnt even get the part about upconverting right, it has nothing to do with spinning the disc faster lol what a boner i hate best buy most of their tv/movie employee's are retarded (no offense if you are actually smart and work there)

This is the level of pretty face, talking heads journalism we suffer in the US. It permeates all news. You know when they can't bother to check out a few facts in something as simple as HD DVD and Blu, they must really be screwing up the important complex issues. Good example of why I refuse to watch news on the networks.

BTW, when will "Network" be available? A prophetic movie!

Well I don't blame the guy in the video as much as the dept head for putting someone up there thats absolutely no idea what a VHS is nevermind HD.

As many of you know my b/f is a Magnolia pro and when I showed him the video he put his hands to his face and shook his head in disbelief.

Yes there are many knowledgeable employees working at BB and many are blu supporters.

Well, nothing like teaching your kids some new words and stereotypes to get them started in their life. Then again, this was from Jacksonville, which borders Georgia, which is the Deep South, which...

...hmm. Let me not cross that line.
