Umm whats happening with Futurama Movie on blu ray? - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

Has anybody heard anything about this? I held off buying the last one because it was only on DVD, and now it looks like I'm going to have to do it again.

I thought that the announcement was "sketchy". Made it sound like it was coming to HD, but in fact meant that it was higher quality than the Tv series. I am not sure about this but you might want to just rent them for now in case there is no Blu later.

I have always loved Futurama probably more than the Simpsons. My favorite character is Bender without whom the series would not be so funny. The other cast members add to it.

I have not seen this film as yet, so will probably go out and buy the DVD.

Nice to hear there are more in the pipeline.

All film are made in 1080p, you can see a trailer in 1080p on THe Simpsons Blu-ray. It's miles better than the DVD (I have it).. i won't buy the 2 others tought. I'll wait for them on Blu-ray

Precisely what I'm doing. $20 for the DVD is ridiculous anyway.

I loved benders big score I was also very impressed with that math special feature, it went across showing all the references to math inside the series, and further explain how to translate the alien languages.

One of the writers has a large degree in math, and hides math everywhere in the series and it makes some of the other previous episodes more funny in my opinion anyway.

2nd movie coming out this month, hopefully we can hear some info about blu-ray for the 1st and 2nd movie. Not gonna buy either on DVD, just rent.

And regular series? I know it was in standard def, but could it be rescanned or something? (I don't know that much about animation.) Speaking more theoretically, with the first movie not even on blu-ray yet, I know it's not very likely going to happen any time soon at least.

I had heard greoning was working on a new season of Futurama that is coming out somewhat soon. I read something that had said he wasn't even doing anything with the simpsons right now becuase he wanted to be focused on Futurama %100. Is this true or did i read a false artical?

The 'season' is actually the movies. Basically, they are releasing the movies straight to DVD. At some point, they are going to take each movie, and split it up into episodes, and air it that way. So Benders Big Score will be the first couple (4-5?) episodes, and the 2nd movie will be the next, etc.

I would like to see the other two out on Blu as well. I hoping for some kind of 4 pack at some point.

Fox has announced the 19-disc Futurama: The Complete Collection for DVD release on 10/13 (SRP $199.98). All 72 episodes will be included, along with 4 feature-length films (Bender's Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game and Into The Wild Green Yonder), with all previous extras and a letter from creator Matt Groening and producer David X. Cohen. All of this will come packaged in a collectible Bender head case, including a detachable rubber antenna. Only 25,000 will be produced. Here's what it looks like...

At what point did you guys realize Lars was the Time Duplicate Fry?

I have watched this film a far few times over now & I cant remember when it clicked for me? When i watch it now its so obvious lars is an older version of fry. yet the first time i watched it it was a huge surprise.

My two Futurama Blu-rays are lonely and they miss Big Score and Billion Backs. I would definitely buy those if they came out on Blu-ray.

We need the first 2 movies on Blu-Ray

I really want the Bender Head set, but can I justify it when I have already purchased all 4 seasons, and the 2 Blu-Ray movies (other 2 movies don't get a purchase until confirmed blu-ray or not)? Hmm... To Bender, or not to Bender... So hard to decide!

All this time later, and still no "Bender's Big Score" or "The Beast With A Billion Backs" on blu-ray. They actually look pretty good on Netflix in HD. Wish they would release them. With my luck they'll put the four movies together in one set, annoying those who bought the blu's of "Bender's Game" and "Into The Wild Green Yonder".

That's assuming they EVER bring them to blu-ray. I'm not holding my breath.
