Let's play the theory game.
It's just a the Christmas deals.
Liquidating all inventory before going Blu-ray.
Testing both formats to see which one sells better, then decided which format to go with.

The multiple repeats are combos, and non-combo versions. WB started replacing some of their combos earlier this year with (cheaper) non-combo versions.

Also note that there are Universal titles stuck in with WB titles on this one.

I think it's just Amazon drumming up interest mainly. They have deals all the time.

If WB has indeed picked a side, they are smart enough to know not to do anything that might negatively impact sales during this important holiday buying season.

Perhaps Amazon just realized that they haven't had any deals for HD DVD people.

Now, do you buy The Departed on regular HD DVD or do you spend $4 more and get the COMBO disc? Is that your COMBO disc? That's a nice COMBO disc.

Dual supports would get it on HDDVD then same PQ but better AQ like TrueHD instead of DD & DD+.

There is also a BB HDDVD BOGO that already started this week too for the next 10 days it has alot of new releases and top titles.
