Default Amazon BOGO for HDDVD?

Hi all,
Just saw this on slickdeals:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...75031&plpage=1

It looks like a poor attempt for the DUDs to counter the Blu BOGO...I browsed through the titles and I saw multiple repeats of the same title and maybe like half the movie selection of the blu BOGO...

Compare to Blu BOGO

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...74981&plpage=1

Update: looks like the Blu BOGO has expired

any thoughts?

Pretty sad selection there, doesn't worry me a bit.
Most available on Blu-ray anyway.
Allot of the dual supporters will buy it on Blu first if it's available.

I'm sure the HDDVD people on the deal forums are happy since they were complaining in every blu-ray bogo thread why don't they have this for HDDVD

Yeah, doesn't worry me either...just kind of funny the half-a$$ed effort they're trying to counter the well thought-out strategy of the BDA to really get blu going for the holidays....

We need an Amazon Fox BOGO. That would really kill their spirits.

Well had they listed Batman Begins, I would have probably given a shot at Batman Begins and 12 Monkeys.

I am getting really impatient with Warner on releasing Batman Begins on Blu Ray.

The blu bogo was up all weekend...and even yesterday...well I'm sure there'll be another one coming out shortly.

A DuD Amazon BOGO is the last thing you have to worry about for this week. By all indicators our Warner BOGO on Amazon was hugely successful, and we also have a BB BOGO this week, plus sub-$300 players, plus other slick deals on HDTVs and 1.1 players.

DuD has a weak Amazon BOGO. Good luck to them with that.....

And don't come back starting a thread about how HD-DVD is ahead of Blu on the Amazon graphs temporarily. For the millionth billionth trillionth time, it's the effect of the BOGO.

We are talking about HDDVD bogo. Im guessing since you are talking about the weekend and all, you mean Bluray bogo which ended and HDDVD bogo took its place.

The Business Week article makes it seem as if WB will be announcing their format of choice shortly.

Time to liquidate all inventory of the losing format.

DVD sales are declining, BAD news for Warner AND rest of the industry.

TRUST ME, they read that loud and clear.
A move to Blu would solidify support for a universal standard and ensure their own future revenue in physical media. Catalog titles are not cutting it anymore and they know that. The last thing they would do is create further confusion and cause a stalemate.

With their vast catalog they stand to loose the most with a stalemate.

Yeah, I myself have bought a few titles over the weekend from Amazon, and another thread seems like a lot of people took advantage of the selections. Not worried here

There are some great titles from WB on the blu-ray BOGO list that are not available on the hd dvd BOGO.
