I've looked around, but haven't seen any plans for this title to come to Blu-Ray.

Does anyone know if is expected to be?

According to this website, http://www.hidefpreview.com/HD%20Rumors.html , you are looking at a August 2008 release date. This is just a rumor.

That was a good movie and would make a good addition to any blu collection. Hopefully it does come out this year on blu.

Ditto, this would make a worthy entry on Blu-ray, plus the DVD was horrible so hopefully the picture and sound will be leaps and bounds better than the DVD.

I was looking thru my DVD collection yesterday to see what I would double dip on, and Count of Monte Cristo was a must!! I'd love to see it.

I love the James Caviezel version. I thought it was amazingly well done. I could watch it over and over. I was never well read growing up, never got into the literary classics. But this film opened my eyes. I never knew that story was so good.

The Count of Monte Cristo is the favorite movie for V in "V for Vendetta" which is a favorite movie for many of the HD hungry fans.

I'd definitely pick this one up too, I really like the acting and it's got a great story.

I actually enjoyed both versions. They're each good for different reasons. I'd pick up either one... or both!
