Dreadful artwork.
And more proof that Disney has little faith in these older classics. I remember these being on Best Buy store shelves back when it was released on DVD ages ago. Now, it's getting a near non-existent release that most of the public will never know about. This is why blu-ray will never reach DVD sales - too many "exclusives' that the average shopper doesn't even know about. DVD succeeded because of a vast library of titles widely available. And this should have been a double-feature. |

This may be a long shot, but members on here have been very helpful in the past with the previous titles.
I was wondering if anyone who is ordering both films would be able to add an extra one of each to their order and ship them to me? I'm in Melbourne, Australia and can't join the DMC (otherwise I would!!), and this is the only way I can get ahold of these films for my Disney collection without resorting to buying from the scalpers on eBay. I'll of course pay full price and any resulting postage fees. Would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help out! ![]() |

OP needs to add the Herbie Monte Carlo film that also got released as a DMC exclusive. It is not shown in the OP.
![]() ![]() https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Herbi...Blu-ray/44560/ Also OP is missing a biggie that got released already--Swiss Family Robinson. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Swiss...Blu-ray/43509/ . Last edited by Arkadin; 10-18-2015 at 01:30 PM. |

And even if they aren't representative of the actual quality of the Bluray, assuming that both Blurays were captured with the same equipment, it's still evident that the 2nd film looks much better than the first. Last edited by filmmusic; 10-23-2015 at 06:45 PM. |

Loved these movies, so I joined DMC so I can get these. Never been the biggest animation fan but I took this opportunity to pick up Toy Story 1-3, The Incredibles, Up, Bolt and Monsters Inc for the introductory $21. And my free Frozen Olaf blanket LOL.

No different then old Columbia house and BMG , I can't even find how many you have to purchase to fulfill ? (and at the very low price of $30 per movie ) . Bmg you only had to buy 1 cd . I ended up with probably 200 cds for peanuts .

![]() ![]() Tia and Tony, two orphaned children played respectively by Kim Richards (Assault on Precinct 13) and Ike Eisenmann (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan), struggle to understand the secrets of their mysterious past while concealing their inexplicable psychic abilities from normal people with varying degrees of success. When they capture the attention of Lucas Deranian, played by Donald Pleasance (Halloween), and his multimillionaire employer, Mr. Bolt, played by Ray Milland (Dial M for Murder), they use their powers to carry out a daring escape, with the help of a horse, a huge black bear, and, ultimately, Jason O'Day, a cynical but kind-hearted loner played by Eddie Albert (Roman Holiday). As these children race across the countryside in O'Day's RV, one step ahead of their wealthy pursuers and law enforcement, scattered memories and recollections of their origin begin to surface in their minds as they edge closer to their destination, Witch Mountain. The 1975 live-action Disney classic, Escape to Witch Mountain, was a ubiquitous fixture of my childhood, by way of frequent network television airings and screen showings at church retreats, but tonight's viewing was my first time revisiting it in well over three decades. I'm amazed at how much of the story I still remember by heart, but I also find myself laughing now about how this film is so 1970s that it should have a warning label on it. We've got wood panel walls, we've got a redneck sheriff, we've got the use of a child's telekinetic abilities at a baseball game, we've got a road trip scenario that provided fuel for countless shows like The Incredible Hulk or B.J. and the Bear, and we've got a Winnebago RV that, at the time, seemed like the coolest vehicle on the planet. Dated relics of decades past aside, Escape to Witch Mountain remains an engaging and well-paced movie that puts us on the ground running without the need to over-explain ambiguous plot details to the audience. My adult self is impressed at how this Disney film effectively juggles a sense of ever-present peril for the protagonists with a lighthearted aesthetic without going overboard with either the intensity or the humor. When I was young, I always used to crack up at a scene where the children are looking out the window of Bolt's mansion, and Deranian explains to them, “Mr. Bolt owns everything in sight.” Tia replies, “Well, I can see the sky.” I had not thought about this scene in many years before revisiting this film, and it still gives me chuckles today. Here's to sticking it to the rich snobs. This Disney Exclusive Blu-ray is a bare bones affair with a good, but not stunning, video presentation. The movie does feature a black bear inside a car, though, and that's all that matters. Last edited by The Great Owl; 06-19-2018 at 11:37 PM. |

Barebones, but decent picture. Both movies look better than the vintage VHS copies i used to have. DMC has come through with some other movies I have been looking for, such as the Mighty Ducks movies and the Keifer Sutherland Three Musketeers, which is one of my favorite versions, especially for the overacting!
It was great to show my kids the original Witch Mountain movies, especially since they have already seen the close to awful Race to Witch Mountain movie..... |

I know this has been out for a while, but I've been holding off on buying it just because I'm still undecided about whether or not to go for the blu-ray or the DVD. I'm a member of the DMC so either are options for me, and normally I wouldn't think twice and go for the blu, but I really hate how Disney leaves off all of the DVD's bonus content, and that's got me second guessing whether or not the blu is worth it.
What do people think of this release? If the picture quality is a significant improvement over the DVD, I'm definitely more inclined to go in that direction. But if the difference isn't that big, I'd prefer to have all the extras that the DVD offers. |

I bought the bluray and was VERY impressed with the upgrade in quality. It looks BEAUTIFUL. I ended up keeping my DVD for the bonus features and slipped both disks into a 2-disk bluray case, so now I have a homemade collector's edition. LOL.
TOTALLY worth it for this film. |
