The 3d was great, surprisingly so for a forced on conversion.
But how was this finished? 2k?

I doubt it was an unexpected conversion. Also the 3D convert is fairly easy to do on a film with such a huge amount of post work.

I am fairly confident this would have been a 2K finish.

It's more of a 'hybrid' conversion a la Gravity, it was shot flat but so much of it is VFX which was rendered 'native' that it might as well be the real thing, it's that good.

As a 'container', yes, but apparently the actual masters put onto disc will mostly be P3 to start off with.

P3 is not a consumer format. The discs will be labeled with REC2020, but the encode will be closer to what P3 offers for a long time.

Only you can make that determination. What kind of 4k tv do u have? Does it do hdr? Are you gonna wait to buy a uhd player or wait?

Out of the four announced by WB, I think I'm most interested in this.
I remember first seeing the original Blu-ray in 2D and 3D and my jaw hit the floor. It was soo good. The 4K UHD quality should hit the roof!

55" Samsung 4K TV non HDR.

I'd like to say that I'd wait but I'm normally an early adopter.

Just learned that the VUDU version of Pacific Rim UHD is encoded in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos.

Here's really hoping the UHD BD also comes with Dolby Vision and Atmos. This will make the perfect Dolby Cinema UHD BD.

I guess so.
Hopefully an official announcement is coming soon.
Cross fingers for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos!
