I want dts HD 5.1 audio on it or I'd import the Aussie release. I'll wait and see what happens. Esp with the upcoming summer lead Universal Best Buy exclusives like The Burbs and Great Outdoors. I can see Universal doing the same for some titles in the fall.
That movie was terrible. They completely changed the motivations of Norman Bates.

Technically the story is an adult Norman recounting his childhood so it is actually a sequel, though the whole thing is a ridiculous semantics argument.

I thought it was the sequel that was the closest to the original, it's a much better companion piece than 2 and 3. 2 was very entertaining, but it and 3 had a lot of influence from slashers, whereas 4 was a character piece.

I've long thought that Psycho IV was the second-best film in the franchise (behind the original, of course). It's always been viewed unfavorably, but lately it's fanbase has expanded a bit.

I can't wait to add it to my collection. It's such an underrated movie and Olivia Hussey is phenomenal as Mother.

IMO, they should have packaged the remake with this as a double feature. I just don't see this as a big seller by itself.

All four Psycho films with Anthony Perkins are excellent. I do not agree with others that have said this film should have been released as a double feature with the 1998 remake. Psycho IV: The Beginning is a good enough film to warrant an individual release.

Now, a double feature of Psycho (1998) and Bates Motel (1987) would make more sense. Those are the "lesser" films.

Psycho 4 has a lot more credibility than 2 and 3. It's the true sequel/prequel to the classic 1960 movie.
