Any time the villain is "captured" more than five minutes before the credits roll, it's a fake-out.

The Riddler sorta did it in the first episode of the Batman TV series so he could sue Batman. Ma Parker also did it so she could run the prison in the television series. Also the Penguin gets sent to jail on purpose in an episode.

Jesus, now I hate Nolan's films even more.

Yes this happened after The Dark Knight but it also happened a lot before it. It's nothing new. The Dark Knoght brought nothing new whatsoever to the cinema.

He didn't get captured on purpose. he just had a contingency plan.

The Dark Knight is Year Zero of filmmaking, everything else is B.N. (Before Nolan)

So we're now in year 8 A.D.N. (Anno Domini Nolan)?

Every single one of these movies you guys have all listed, including The Dark Knight, are just ripping off the ultimate war-games twist from Private Benjamin!!

One quick example that comes to mind is Se7en.
That's not the same thing though. John Doe doesn't contrive a situation where he appears to get captured just so he can escape again, he simply gives himself up so he can complete his "project"

No. Sanchez is legitimately captured. He just manages to find somebody corruptible enough to bribe so he can escape.

I think some people are confusing this cliché with movies where the villains are genuinely captured, but then escape later on.
