Agents of SHIELD's first season was released on September 14th, 2014. These were the results: http://www.the-numbers.com/home-mark...art/2014/09/14 SHIELD moved a little more than 43,500 units. Which is average for a TV show, but nothing terrible. That same year's season of Once Upon a Time, it's third, was released several weeks earlier: http://www.the-numbers.com/home-mark...art/2014/08/24 Once Upon a Time moved a little above 46,000 units. Once again, that's about average and certainly no breakaway number, but it clearly sold more. While this isn't too embarassing what is also of note are the legs of the two releases. Once Upon a Time stayed fairly strong it's second week dropping down to 26,000. The website doesn't have a number for SHIELD's second week because it wasn't in the top thirty, however that particular list bottoms out with about 15,000 units, which means SHIELD sold less than that. There's no question. Once Upon a Time spanked SHIELD. SHIELD even sold less units than that year's releases of Supernatural and Arrow (which DC fans can have bragging rights on), two shows that had far less viewers that season. It's somewhat pointless to bring up the sales in 2015. Once Upon a Time's units only went up. SHIELD never even broke the top thirty. No doubt it's Amazon Exclusive status made sure of that. SHIELD's second season might have sold more units if it was released in stores, but sadly we'll never know. Disney might have shot themselves in the foot with the Amazon deal, mistaking a failure in it for a failure in the series. Last edited by 1godzillafan; 09-25-2016 at 02:27 AM. |

Was just googling if there was a release date for this. What is Marvel doing with their TV stuff? Their movies own release weeks in terms of sales. It seems bizarre that there is very little info on what kind of deal Netflix and Marvel have with physical media, and stranger yet is their decision to go with Amazon exclusives for AoS 2 and Carter. Are they just opting not to release this one at all? They've already missed the boat with releasing just prior to the next season showing up on TV

People watch Marvel movies primarily for big action spectacle. This also translates into fantastic sales on Blu-ray because people want to watch them over and over.
Marvel TV shows don't deliver that so their sales are nowhere near as high. |

Someone posted a listing for Australia, with it already being released there. I can't find any evidence of this (the only release I see is the fraudulent copies on eBay). Has this actually been released? Retailer exclusive? Any info is much appreciated!! ♥
EDIT: This is about AoS S3. Already have Agent Carter S2 pre-ordered. |

To release AC a show cancelled and not a show still on the air ever would not make a lick of sense

No it has not been released anywhere. There was a listing at JBhifi in Aussieland for about a day, but that's gone too.
Just wait for the UK. |

People keep assuming AoS does well because it is Marvel, ignoring the fact the show sucks, the ratings suck and it's completely irrelevant to the movies anyway. YOU might feel passionate loyalty to the brand and want it no matter what, but most people do not work that way. Also its audience probably skews very young, and those people tend to stream or pirate their media. It is not at all surprising it didn't sell well, same for Agent Carter.

Well the ratings do suck, that can't be argued, but the show itself sucking is subjective. I thought the first season was rocky but satisfying, the second season was boring with a few highlights, but a third a major step up from the previous two. And the fouth season premiere was largely strong, leaving me hope for this year as well.
I enjoyed Agent Carter from beginning to end, personally. I understand why the series never caught on (I was surprised enough people watched it in order to get it a second season in the first place), but I can't really ever say that show was objectively poor. I'm a bit of a superhero junkie myself, and the situation for SHIELD, Carter, and the Netflix shows really bums me out. But I can't be blind to the facts the first season sold okay but the company was probably expecting more based on the brand. They experiment through an exclusive deal on season two and Carter's first but it seemed to turn a lot of people off on both, what with Amazon seizing an opportunity for selling closer to SRP and Disney just putting out an inferior product in general (lacking extras, no play all function, ect). If last year's SHIELD and Carter releases weren't so botched it's possible we'd see the latest seasons by now. That's my opinion on what happened. It might be something else in general, but that's what my eyes see and the conclusion I came to. I'm fully prepared to import these titles if I must (if I were to own only one SHIELD season, the third was the one to buy, and it kind of kills me that they stopped right in front of it), though I wish it hadn't come to this. Personally if they don't want to go retail the next time out, maybe they can try an on demand exclusive from Marvel.com for the fans? That's something I would consider, but I'm not in charge of anything. |

I only watched two or three episodes of SHIELD on Netflix and hated it. Not going to watch dozens more episodes hoping it gets better. |

I was the same way with Heroes. Watched half the first season and just dropped it because I didn't think I needed to waste an hour of my life trying to get into something that just wasn't clicking. And that was supposed to be the GOOD season. Lol. You shouldn't watch what you don't enjoy, that's just the fact of our hobby.
My interest in the this particular genre has me delve into a little bit of everything, and even if I don't enjoy it then it can look pretty on my shelf to compensate for my not watching it. 2015's Fantastic Four does that jus beautifully, and X-Men: Apocalypse is going to be the most expensive coaster I've ever owned. But not everybody is a freak like me. |

I actually just started watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (now that I'm a fan of the MCU and there aren't any other shows I'm watching lol) this past week and it's... ok. I'm on the sixth episode now so I don't have a concrete opinion. But I don't hate it. I also don't see myself loving it enough to want to buy the show on Blu-ray, so that's lucky I guess lol.
I do like when they reference the movies, and I LOVED Nick Fury's cameo at the end of that one episode. I'm not sure how I feel about Agent Coulson returning. He's a great character, don't get me wrong, but it kind of "cheapens" his death in The Avengers IMO. But I feel like they're going somewhere with that... so no spoilers please lol. I'll see how I feel about the show after season 1 to decide if I want to continue with it or not. How is Agent Carter though? I loved her in Captain America and I can't imagine that a show based around her could be bad. Is it rerun on TV or is there anywhere online to watch it? $32.99 is a bit much for an 8-episode blind buy lol. |

I mean, I think that's pretty normal behavior. Especially now-a-days, when there are like 200 supposedly good shows all going at once. This is especially true for me, as I am much more a movie person than a TV person. I ain't got 20 hours to kill waiting for you to improve your show. |

I have never imported movies/tv shows before. And honestly I really rather wouldn't and I'm still willing to wait a bit to see if the U.S. eventually gets a release of Daredevil Season 1 and Angel Carter Season 2(and eventually Agents Of Shield season 3).
But if I were to import Daredevil Season 1 and Agent Carter Season 2.I do have a few questions since I have never done it before. 1)These releases are region free so they should be able to play on my Blu Ray player but my bigger question is will they play on my BD drive too?As mentioned in other threads,I do most of my Blu Ray watching on my computer/BD drive. So if it probably won't play there then it won't really be worth it to me personally to import. 2)I've used Amazon.com a few times.I don't really like ordering online but I've done it on certain occasions and have used Amazon and have a account.I'm logged in right now.It also seems that I'm also logged into Amazon UK even though I've never used it before.I don't know if it was this thread or another but I saw someone mention Amazon UK does use your account if you already have one with Amazon U.S.I just want to double check to make sure? 3)Can you use Amazon gift cards from the U.S. on Amazon UK?Usually when I order online.I buy a gift card(a Amazon gift card in this case) in store and use that online instead of a credit card. Can I still do that for this?I know there is a conversion from $ to £ and shipping costs.I can work out the total cost and buy a gift card that covers the whole thing but can I buy a Amazon card here in the U.S. and use it for Amazon UK? I'm still planning to wait a bit to see if we get a U.S. release announced but if I do eventually decide to import,I just want know the logistics about it and if it will even play on my BD drive. |

2) Yes, your Amazon.com account is usable on Amazon.co.uk. 3) No, Amazon.com gift cards do not work on Amazon.co.uk. |
