Well you gotta press 1000 discs minimum, and an extra 500 doesn't hurt the bottom line that much since most of the expense is the licensing, the authoring, and the creation of a glass master.

Less optimistic than the "30,000 limited edition" of Alien 2: On Earth

Are you using Google Chrome? Seems to be the only browser that works.

Good luck with that one, if they EVER sell 1500 of this off their own site I would be shocked. You will probably be able to buy it from scalpers at a huge premium soon from Amazon, though. Seems like a weird stand to make against installing Chrome temporarily.

Anyway, I saw the topic title and was like "wow, an 80 movie box set?!?!"

What's with the constant releases of his stuff from about 4 labels now? Is it just that he directed SO many movies that if you throw a dart at unreleased horror movies it will probably land on one of his?

Awful Dr Orloff is one of his best-known and best-regarded movies, is this one similar?

Awful Dr. Orloff is in another league than Sinister. Quality is at opposite ends of the spectrum, IMO.

Is the numbered edition of 1500 still available? The site had a counter for how many they had sold, but it is gone now. Does this mean the numbered editions have all been orderd?

The numbered edition is still on until the pre-sale ends. I think they took off the counter due to low sales sadly.

They posted this on their Facebook page today for one looking to buy the numbered edition after the pre-sale ends on Sunday:

Quote:
For those of you who really want the Ultimate edition [UE] but have to wait for a cash flow within the next 30 days email us at production@doradofilms.com and we will try and work something out. Any UE sales after the presale ends at 5:00pm this Sunday [PST] will not be numbered and would be based on first come first served until the limited number stamped are all gone.
So if you order before Sunday, you'll get a numbered edition. After that, you'll have to e-mail them.

I was thinking low sales might have been behind it. They were pretty low last I saw. I was hoping to try and get number 666, but without the counter who knows where they are at.

Yeah. It's a shame about sales so far, but they seem to be going on with their chin up. They announced possible future releases today:

Quote:
We will go out on a limb here and say that our plans to release our first Eurocrime BR "High Crime" is slated for a single release over the winter months . we will narrow the release dates down after we get through this first DF BR .

Still deciding on the next Horror / Giallo to do for you horror fans...
Volume 2 JF?....... Estigma &?...... Crimes of the Black cat? hmm...

For our Spaghetti Western Fans, we are hoping to release our first BR western by Spring of 2017, and finally we have the ability to release The Fuller report and Tiffany Memorandum in the spring for you Eurospy buffs as well.

FYI The registration issue I was having was from trying to sign up via the pre order page. When I signed up from their main site it worked.

From their Facebook page (on 12/7):

Quote:
We have heard from the replication people, they will have the order sent out for fulfillment on our Jess Franco's Forgotten Films V1 by no later than December 20th, 2016... meaning shipping will commence on that following day. [December 21, 2016].

From what I understand from Dorado's latest Facebook post, they sent an email to pre-sale ultimate edition buyers where they are given four titles and they choose which they would like to see Dorado release. Did anyone here get this email? The options are apparently between José Ramón Larraz's Estigma and Euro-Crime movies.

Also I learned, from Bloody Disgusting, that they licensed A Lizard in a Woman's Skin to Mondo Macabro for their home video release.

Based on looking up their IMDB synopsis and posters, I think Estigma or The Horrible Sexy Vampire look like the coolest. Plus they are both Spanish and have nice posters, but I would want to check out all 4 titles anyway.

Received the email with the four titles, but haven't voted yet.

Don't know anything about the four titles.
