I agree. Besides, Jordan is already going to be in the MCU as a character in the Black Panther movie.

He's irreplaceable.

And I'll kindly ask you to not worry about what I'm smoking.

This. If they bring back Snipes for a real trilogy ender and keep it R-rated then I will be very interested. I have absolutely ZERO belief that Disney/Marvel would do that however.

I love Snipes as Blade, but his returning to the role is dicey at best.As someone who still has his run of Tomb of Dracula comics, I wouldn't mind a complete reboot of the series with the more animated and garrulous Blade as conceived by Marv Wolfman, always ready with a wise-ass quip or retort, while never being less than dangerous and deadly...without veering too closely into Deadpool territory.

Let Snipes play an older Blade who is mentoring someone new and put it on Netflix. I wouldn't mind a cameo by Snipes as Blade in another MCU property to bring him into the fold.

Based on how Marvel Studios operates currently, it would likely be either a PG-13 movie, possibly with the character showing up in someone else's film first (like with MCU Spider-Man, Black Panther, etc.), or it will be an R-rated level Netflix original. I'm betting on the latter for Blade.

It will absolutely not be a film with Wesley Snipes or part of those movies. People just need to let that go right now. Those were not MCU films, and Marvel Studios doesn't play in somebody else's sandbox. I liked the first two Snipes Blade movies, didn't even hate Trinity like some people, but that's the end of that series. It died when Marvel got the rights back while Snipes was in jail and a follow-up to Blade: Trinity couldn't be made.

Come on why not? It'll be "fun". But seriously I agree with you. Blade would be great for a Netflix series. Doctor Strange would be great there as well, but I fear that we'll get a watered down fun version of his character in the upcoming film.

Well Marvel met with Snipes I believe, which is why people treat it as a possibility. Granted that easily could have been about producing, or could go nowhere, but it lends some possibility to the idea. Personally the Snipes Blade and Maguire Spider-Man are so iconic to me I wish Marvel just accepted them, but I get why corporate politics makes that tough.

And don't get me wrong-- if Marvel did make an unprecedented move and bring Snipes into the MCU I definitely wouldn't be complaining.

I just don't think it's necessary. I was one of those "Give it to Tom Jane!" guys when it was first discovered the MCU Punisher was being developed, but after watching Daredevil Season 2, I couldn't be more thrilled with Jon Bernthal's version and can't wait for the Punisher Netflix show. Sometimes its better not to get something you think you want.

I seriously doubt it will be Wesley Snipes. Marvel Studios has never carried over an actor who played the character in a previous movie, and I don't believe they'd consider Snipes or bringing the previous films into MCU continuity.
Get over Snipes, Reeves, Keaton, etc.
Mythology is greater than one actor.
Snipes is what jump started the Marvel movie empire it is today. Bunch of ingrates in this thread.

If you believe the rumors, it will be Snipes returning as Blade to go hunting with his daughter, Fallon.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Says Nothing ’Imminent’ On ’Blade’
Quote:
Speaking after a sneak peek of Scott Derrickson’s “Doctor Strange” Monday evening, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dashed any immediate hopes of a Blade return during a short interview with media in attendance. When asked about Beckinsale’s remark, Feige responded...

Quote:
“They did ask a long time ago and I think our answer was, ‘No, we’ll do something with ‘Blade’ at some point.’ That’s still the answer,” Feige says. “We still think he’s a great character. He’s a really fun character. We think this movie going into a different side of the universe would have the potential to have him pop up, but between the movies, the Netflix shows, the ABC shows there are so many opportunities for the character to pop up as you’re now seeing with Ghost Rider on ‘AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ that rather than team up with another studio on that character let’s do something on our own. What that is? Where that will be? We’ll see. There is nothing imminent to my knowledge.”

An R rated Blade would be awesome but i think Snipes was awesome in the role. He embodied it

When they come to do it again, I am fine with an unknown as long as it is well done and really good. On par with the Netflix shows

I read some comments that Snipes couldn't be replaced, and okay. Is there a list of iconic characters we're allowed to interchange not only with sex but ethnicity, and a list of characters that are off limits? Because this is confusing.

He can be replaced, I just don't really want him to be. More to the point though, I don't want him to be in a PG-13 Marvel Studios style movie. Maybe if they make Punisher a true R-rated style Netflix show I would be rooting for Blade to get a similar treatment, but I don't think Disney have the balls to do anything like that with the Marvel logo at the front.

Speaking of Punisher, have you seen the youtube short Dirty Laundry? A bit off topic, but it's really good. Also who published Deadpool, I thought that was Disney/Marvel. Could that crew do a proper Blade?

Marvel Said To Be Planning R-Rated Blade Movie With Wesley Snipes

Quote:
Last month, Disney CEO Bob Iger mentioned at the quarterly earnings call that the company intends to branch out into R-rated Marvel movies, and while Deadpool was the only property he singled out by name, one exceptionally bloody superhero series is likely to open the door for others. And since the rumors of an R-rated Black Widow movie were recently shot down by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, there’s already been some speculation that Blade might be next to take advantage of Disney’s newfound openness.

Sure enough, a source close to We Got This Covered has alleged that Marvel is currently planning an R-rated Blade movie, and as per Wesley Snipes’ various teases last year, it’s said that the star of the previous film trilogy is likely to be involved in the project. On top of that, it’s reported that the studio already has a script which sees Eric Brooks training his daughter (presumably Fallon Grey), but since it’s still an early draft, plans could easily change.

Though none of this guarantees that another Blade movie will actually see the light of day, Feige has certainly shown himself to be open to the idea in the past, and Snipes himself claims to have been in talks with Marvel for years about a reboot, suggesting that he’s very serious about trying to make this happen.

What’s more, the fan demand is definitely out there for more Blade movies, though with Snipes currently at the age of 56, passing the torch to a younger star like Fallon might be the most viable move, especially if Marvel is looking to up the number of female superheroes in their line-up. Either way, be sure to keep watching this space for further news on the daywalker’s return.

Surprised they're going ahead with R-rated content and bringing back Snipes. Basically would make the Blade trilogy part of the MCU.
