Yes, i agree.

The Fugitive (1963-1967) each episode lasted 51 minutes. Korean tv series last 60 minutes or longer.

Usually 42 minutes when on syndication channels due to amount of adverts

I wish they would put it up for preorder anywhere, so I know if I have to sell a kidney to afford it.

No widescreen no buy. I don't want to see Magnum cropped on the sides anymore. I want Magnum in full widescreen glory. If 80's Columbo can do it, Magnum can do it. He's way stronger.

So you'd prefer to have the top and bottom cropped? It was filmed and framed for 4:3. If you want it to look its best it should be in 4:3. If you don't want pillar boxing zoom in. It will be more or less the same as what a 16:9 version would be.

If they would actually go widescreen with this, there would be two choices:

1. Cropping the top and bottom.

2. Having a lot of empty space on both sides with all the action taking place in the middle. So basically, if you love palm trees, that would be the version for you.

Both are not going to happen.

The Columbo TV movies were shot protected for widescreen because they were released in cinemas in some countries outside the US. And even then, there would be absolutely nothing but scenery on the sides. And Magnum was shot for TV. Only for TV. 4:3 TVs.

The price is £1.05 an episode, which is more reasonable than the A-Team or Knight Rider are going for on that site.

Surely this will decrease in price in foreseeable future?
Was this series fun as well? I don't remember it at all.

It might but perhaps not at Amazon which has maintained the high price on The A-Team.

It certainly had some fun moments and the cast had great chemistry. It also had a few crossover episodes, which were great fun too.

Just a personal opinion, of course, but this show WAS the 80s for me. I watched everything else, but it all seems childish, when you look back at it. This is the only 80s show that aged well and that still packs the same punch it did when it first aired.

Maybe the reason is that it aired late at night, while A-Team, Knight Rider and Airwolf, The Six Million Dollar Man and so on... aired in the afternoon, so the children could watch it. So Magnum always seemed more adult. Only Miami Vice can get close, but that aged so badly because of the fashion, the hair and the music.

I'll let you know in the next few days. A reviewer colleague is compiling the specs from the discs and is up to S3.

The person doing the content for DVDCompare has posted on another forum that the cross over episode is missing.

It has the syndication version of the Magnum PI episode which wraps up the story as a brief add on at the end of the episode rather than continuing in the cross over.
