I just don't understand why a stickied thread with "post here only!" in the title was locked

just my 2 cents on the reason of closing threads
But, i agree wit you, mods should delete uncivilized comments
Hahaha yeah o.k. Millions of dollars, the fate of the format war and sound business decisions all rest in the hands of a few home theater fanatics sounding off on an internet forum.

Asking about future release dates are pointless because insiders will never pre-announce them. So the mods delete such threads.

Really? You don't say? Please explain this, then:

So, this means that it should be shortly becoming available to all film fans of this particular title to enjoy in their home theaters once the marketing gurus decide on a debut date based upon their marketing formulas and what not.

In the meantime, catch it in all its glory at CES.
I don't know about anyone else, but this is the first news I've seen or heard regarding this movie...

If you follow closely, I believe that was an exception made by P-Man because it's Christmas. And he knew by doing so will get him into some marketing brouhaha but nevertheless he did anyway.

So are we not supposed to post anything negative about Warner now? I'm not being sarcastic, this is an honest question.

I have spent hours (literally)on the phone trying to get WHV customer support's help. They sent me a faulty Sorcerer's Stone disk in the HP Box and due to the Goblet fiasco they can't seem to find the correct department to help me. I've been put off and put on hold so many times that I sincerely doubt I'll be using their services any time in the future.

I'm not telling anyone to steal disks or how I'm taking advantage of the company in any way, I just want to let people know what's happening in my case.

I know a lot of people are taking advantage of these various Warner situations and posting their methods, but shouldn't the individuals be punished, not the threads themselves?

This whole thread situation is a gigantic grey area. If you keep threads open that get heated, like this topic did, then the people who are morally against stealing and passionate enough about the format to see the bigger picture of the consequences of the tactics being advertised in order to encite unmoral behaviour on others parts, will never ceased in attempting to make the corrupt individual see things from the proper perspective. Eventually, that puts the recipient of said cohersion into a state where they feel like they are being "told what to do"... which never goes over well for people who like to rebel against the system. Thus, a neverending battle ensues and will 100% guarantee a verbally violent outcome that is neither acceptable nor warranted in any public discussion forum, be it internet, radio, or some form of convention.

You can discuss your problems with Warner Bros in order to warn them of possible danger in dealing with them. Just don't try to justify or promote thievery and scrupulous behaviour. Stay away from that kind of talk and you'll survive in this crazy cyber-space world... which we all tend to frequent WAY too much!

No prob. Just wait until you find yourself in the middle of one of those thread when things get ugly. It can be frightening the first couple of times. But, then it starts to get fun, in a weird way. LOL! Maybe that's just the sadist in me though.

The "is this title coming" threads are not being deleted because they are pointless. The mods allow plenty of pointless discussions to go on. The mods here are not point police. They get deleted because there is an official "is this title coming" sticky thread. A lot of repetitive stuff would be greatly diminished if people would pay attention to the stickys and do a little searching. Despite a load of stickys with posting rules, basic information, and so on, we still regularly get black bars threads along with a ton of other beloved old chestnuts. Then the new poster gets offended when people get snippy with them. At least when the thread under discussion by this new poster got zapped he was very good natured about it. That's points to him in my book.

On the Warner thread issue, I don't really have an opinion. I can see the value of the info on dealing with the situation, but it is tough to post police threads that start degenerating over and over. since I never dealt with the Warner store, and likely now will continye to get my WB BDs from Amazon and other sources, I'll just skip this one.

I wish they'd caught it sooner. I told my coworker about it. now I have to go back and let him down easily (tucking tail between legs).

meh, they do what they have to to keep themselves out of trouble as well. Matter of opinion in the end whether or not what they do is justifiable. But then again, in the end, your stuff gets deleted so theres no argument.
