If it was from August, I wouldn't have posted it. It's from October.

If you are a gamer, the PS3 is the way to go, there are so many great games coming next year (MGS4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, GT5, etc etc), you can't go wrong. The only con I see is that you can't use your remote, but it's well worth it as it's a great Blu Ray player, plus you get all the aforementioned games and then some.

HOWEVER, if you have really ruled out the PS3, then either the 299 Panasonic or Sony should suffice and they're within your budget.

I sit corrected. Point being is that we give all new members a welcome to the new format and this site. Troll possibility? Sure. Always a possibility, but we all start off with a very low post number and if you have ever changed your mind on a topic or matter as time progressed, you are just as much part of the human race as our new member is....

I agree. Everyone has a right to change their minds.
Looking at his current gear, either a BD30 or PS3 will fit the bill.
He is obviously a gamer, so a PS3 would not be a bad addition.

And you'd be kosher if it was from yesterday? Whatever

If the OP is looking into buying a blu ray player, that's cool. I was just looking for the turning point that sparked the interest from a Microsoft employee who took some unsubtle digs at blu a couple of months ago.

Once again we have turned a potential new member's question about Blu-ray and turned it into a member's only tit for tat, off topic exercise in stupidity. I don't care if he is/was an HD DVD supporter. Or is a Microsft employee. We are better than this. If he is ligitimatly looking into blu, then great. If not, who cares? Lets take the high road in these regards.

If you can't stand the PS3 then I would definitely get the new Panny BD30.

I kinda hafta agree with Mike on this one. I'm curious as well as to what was it that got him wanting to give the blu camp a try. And for the record, I am in no way condoning giving him a hard time, or calling him names, I'm just genuinely curious as to what sparked the change.

+1

If he had been even the slightest bit antagonistic, many of us would have jumped all over him (myself included), but he asked the forum for advice stating his intentions of going blu. No problem here.

Good luck with turning a blind eye to someone who was "potentially" trolling only two months ago.

Just looking for the turning point here, folks. Get your panties out of a bunch. It's not like it's life or death, as someone else so cleverly pointed out.

Bullshit to everyone crying about not calling the topic creator out on his earlier troll posts! What's wrong with wanting an explanation from the guy after he took some digs at blu ray?
