I don’t think any Apple TV movies have yet. Though most are fairly recent (think earliest high profile one was The Banker that released in theaters a bit before the lockdown), if by middle of next year none of their movies are on Blu, we probably know the strategy.

Both of Tomm Moore's previous movies have hit Blu, so I imagine he might push for it. Hopefully it'll happen.

Talking Wolfwalkers now available on Apple TV+!

And finally, Wolfwalkers was released to the public for all to watch today! The wait was all worth it, it feels like a cycle has drawn to a close.

What an amazing and wonderful movie! That whole Celtic "trilogy" is amazing! Now, I only wish Wolfwalkers gets released on Blu-ray someday. I'm always doubtful when something gets released digitally...

Apparently, they'll make sequels! I can only find the info on a Fan wiki website, but this looks legit:

Quote:
The first installment, Wolfwalkers, was released on December 11, 2020, with announcement of a larger series by GKIDS on November 13, 2020 and Apple TV+ on December 11, 2020, one week before Wolfwalkers was released. Note that the sequels into franchise only have working titles as yet; they will most likely be given different names closer to the release.

Like the original film, the four planned sequels have "fully encapsulated" standalone plots that "come to their own conclusions". All four films have an overarching meta-narrative that connects them and have Robyn and Mebh back together on their next journey adventures quest. Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart described the sequels as "a generation's of all the themes, and the characters, and the magical quest's undercurrents" of the first film.

Just watched it this afternoon, i've loved all of the features so far from Cartoon Saloon & this one was no different.
Absolutely loved it, my favourite film of the year.

Mine too, and I would still be thinking that in a normal, Covid-free year when I'd have seen 30 or 40 more movies by this point.

Watched this last night for the first time. Was really misled by the ads I was seeing (which made it appear more G-rated) but so glad I took a chance on this. Reminded me a lot of a Studio Ghibli film (think Brave crossed with Ponyo with notes of Princess Mononoke). Definitely one of the best movies of this year.

All animation ads make the films look more "family friendly" than they sometimes are, to sucker in parents, because "cartoons are for kids".

Oh yes, Brave is my all-time favorite Disney Animated movie!

This doesn’t seem legit it seems like some fan made up this information because they really liked the movie I also don’t think cartoon salon has ever made a sequel to one of their films. So based on that I think the odds of this getting a sequel are slim to none.

I only watched the trailer and it looked amazing! Definitely interested in watching the whole movie.

Hopefully they'll release it on BD and 4K UHD.

I love this studio's films, but Ponyo has to be the worst Ghibli film I ever saw by a country mile, and Brave was so boring I wanted to fall asleep. I am sure this is better than both of those.

I wasn’t familiar with Cartoon Saloon until I read the review of their film.
Watched this last night. What an amazing movie. Now I gotta track down the other 3.

The Breadwinner should be on Netflix.

This is my current ranking:
1. Song of the Sea
2. Wolfwalkers
3. The Breadwinner
4. The Secret of Kells

Edit: I changed my ranking because in the end, I think that Song of the Sea did something charming and special, while Wolfwalkers, though nice as it is, feels like a less poignant Princess Mononoke.
