Help! My ps3 stopped reading discs!

Then the customer service rep. checked with his boss, and came back and said there would be no charge. I'll keep this thread updated, so that anybody else who has this problem can refer to it.

Update:

My box arrived today. That's four business days, just like the guys at AVS said. They said in total it was a ~2 week turnaround for them, so if I ship my ps3 off tomorrow, I'll get it back in a week to a week and a half.

Update:

Sony shipped off my ps3 today via UPS. It's standard 3-day shipping so I should get it Wednesday or Thursday.

Glad to hear you will be back in business shortly. I would be lost with out my PS3

Yes, that's what man in the service told me about mine. Hardware failure. Mine was replaced instantly.

I have a launch day 60GB made in china Ps3 and I use the heck out of it.

It has never had a problem but I have 2 more years left of an extended warranty I bought with it.

I guess if it does have a problem though I may have to settle for a 80 or 40GB since the 60 seems history.
