What about Bunny Lake Is Missing? I was under the impression that that's a new 4K restoration, while the Twilight Time disc is an older master.

Looking forward to this although i'll wait for a price drop, I'm not paying £40 for three old movies. I love these, especially Golden Voyage and Eye of the Tiger as I prefer the actor who plays Sinbad in those.

I on the other hand am more loath to pay big money for newer releases, since I consider older titles have a smaller market and more work required in terms of restoration and commissioning of supplemental material. But yes, I'm not going for the boxset, since I mainly want Golden Voyage and will happily drop up to 15 quid for a good release (assuming decent on-disc extras and/or booklet).

If this will really be an improvement then I would love to pick it up. Hope the price drops. But, by the time I find out if it`s worth an upgrade, it will probably be sold out.

Any chance of some more of Ray's work in the future? Mysterious Island? Clash of the Titans? The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms? Mighty Joe Young? 20 Million Miles to Earth? First Men in the Moon?

we have another 8 of Ray's great movies, some of which you have mentioned. Hopefully you will see them in our release schedule in the Autumn.

Yep, that's the dilemma!

I'm fairly happy, all things considered, with the Aussie set, and the few extras in this release that aren't in that one don't fuss me all that much. So it all comes down to the transfers. It may seem perverse, but I'm okay with films like these looking like a product of their times, since that's how I know them from my childhood.

I like the Sinbad Trilogy, especially Eye of the Tiger as I saw it at the cinema! Very impressed with Ray Harryhausen's stop motion animation.

I have the DVDs which I think I've only watched twice. I'll get the Blu-ray boxed set when the price comes down. It's limited to 6000 copies so hopefully it won't sell out very soon

LOL - I saw it at the cinema too - part of a double bill (bet there are a lot here that are too young to remember those )

Sinbad played with the Spiderman US TV movie - (the pilot for the series that was edited into a film for UK release)... as they did with Battlestar Galactica & Buck Rogers in the late 70's.

Ahh - the good old days - get out the 'Member berries -

That's weird, because I saw ...Eye of the Tiger at the cinema, too! I was 7 at the time.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the 6000 copies to sell out. I don't forsee it being around long enough for sales.
But there's also the book which should be a nice addition. I just hope its not a reprint of parts of the Master of the Majicks books.

By waiting you risk missing out entirely.
The Twilight Time releases of the 2 Sinbad movies would have cost you around £50 at the time for the pair.
If you don't want to pay £40 then get the Australian set which is £10 cheaper, includes Argonauts too and is even on Amazon Prime

The Beast from 20000 Fathoms and Mighty Joe Young also available on the region free US Special Effects Collection which also features Them and Son of Kong so none of these are likely to be releasd by Indicator

Yeah exactly, if it sells out i'll just get the Australian release which I've been hovering over for a while, no big deal. I love these movies but I've gone for this long without having them on blu ray so I can certainly wait longer.

Yeah but I am sure they will release a basic set like Arrow did with the hellraiser box set. Which will drop the book.

I`ve seen both The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger in the cinema when they were first released. Eye had the unfortunate timing of being released right after Star Wars and suffered greatly because of it. Star Wars made Eye look so out-of-date to me. It didn't help that I thought it was a lesser film than Golden Voyage. But, Caroline Munro was just AMAZING! Jane Seymour never had that same effect on me.

Anyways, I really like the artwork on this release. I prefer boxsets for trilogies on my shelf instead of single cases. But, I don't want to just upgrade for the boxset itself. Hopefully, there will be a little more info available soon to help me decide whether or not I want to upgrade.

They updated the description on their site:

• New 4K restoration of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad from the original camera negative
• 2K restorations of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger from the original camera negatives
