Wow, I guess my collection is heavily lopsided to favor the 2000's ( although every decade is represented). 33.2% of my blus are from that decade and 31.1% of my dvds.

![]() I think this millennium is a little skewed by TV and the availability of really, really cheap used discs (which I think lean pretty heavily toward more recent stuff) but to be honest, as much as I love catalog stuff, there are a lot of really cool current discs too. |

This is the first time I have looked at statistics about my collection.
I was sure the 1980s would be the bulk of my collection, but it didn't even make the top 3! The interesting thing is that my collection runs in exact reverse order by decade, with 2010s being at the top (11.4%). |

Older films are more expensive and go OOP mush easier/quicker. Most newer movies are def easier and cheaper to collect. Creates an anomaly. |

The current decade is by far the most heavily-represented in my Blu-ray collection, at least on an per-year average basis.
Some would say that I have a glaring hole in my collection from the 1970s on back, but that's OK. I have a lot of older films on DVD and even Laserdisc, but I've already upgraded almost all the films already in my collection that I would care to. ![]() Last edited by svenge; 04-29-2017 at 11:31 AM. |

1970's, although, 72.8% of my total collection is from the 50s-80s:
![]() Other than documentaries, trailer comps, Mad Men/Walking Dead seasons, and a few 3-D titles (which I wouldn't have purchased if they were 2-D only), the only films I have from this decade are Tree of Life, The Innkeepers, Skyfall (part of the Bond box), and my unopened We are the Flesh, part of my Gold Back subscription. I've barely got anything from the 2000s either! I'm a 20th Century Boy. |

72.3% of my collection comes from 1950s through the 1980s.
I own quite a few 2010s movies, though, because I love the Marvel films, and various other present-day cinematic gems (La La Land, Green Room, The Witch, Mad Max: Fury Road, etc.). As much as I like to bust on present-day, there are quite a few films from this decade that do not suck. (Judging from your taste in cinema, I'd be interested to see what you think of Green Room.) Funnily enough, I own more films from the 2010s than I do from the 1990s or 2000s. |
