Online only means that 10+ years from now, when the servers probably no longer exist, this game will be entirely unplayable for anyone who wants to relive the open world.

So it's kind of like renting the game for $59.99 since you can't keep it long term/forever. I still play Driver 1 from 1999 now and then on the old PS3 and PS1/2. Some of the same team members that made Crew 2.

I still play Driver - San Francisco on PC, and now on the Xbox1X as it's on the compatibility list. Fantastic game, and as i may have suggested before, if both games are from Ubisoft, then why did Ubi give us a cutdown version of San Fran when the basic assets were there with the last Driver game!

I believe most of the former Reflections team is working on The Crew games now. The Edmonsen brothers, the original Driver directors, have long since departed from the series unfortunately before and after Driver:SF.

Had this new game been compatible with offline, it'd be one of my most anticipated games of 2018. But they left offline gamers out of the picture.
Driver SF's awesome concept of switching to any vehicle at any moment looks like it was extended in some form to The Crew 2, which is really cool to see, as it was a great idea to keep things exciting. Kind of like a sports game where you can switch to any player.

So Crew 2 is available now I see.

This would've been an awesome game if it allowed for offline mode. I hate to always be connected just to play a game that could've easily offered an offline mode.

Has anybody else accidentally reported liveries? I always do my visual parts first before looking at liveries and in the visual parts menu clicking the RS enters a 360 camera for you to look at the car with. So naturally when you go over to liveries and want to see what they look like you expect the same control but the geniuses made clicking the RS report liveries. Hopefully they don't punish for false reports since their silly oversight is to blame

The worst part is if you report a livery you can no longer see it or get it and chances are if you were wanting to see what it looks like it was one that looked like it had potential instead of just the million police car liveries

At least I didn't accidentally do that when finding a Ferrari livery for the RB13

Anyway, overall I like it but much like the first game it is still a mixed bag.

Out of my issues I would like them to address a few that come to mind are that it is annoying that cars such as the hyper cars can only be used in a handful of events and they are the long tedious races at that. The motocross handling is just plain bad. Point based events like drifting shouldn't end if you are in the middle of a combo chain. You also shouldn't break the chain tapping a light post or something they litter the area with IMO. And the rubber band A.I. makes NFS look good which is pretty hard to do. In the coast to coast race I knocked 10 minutes off my time using the Agera R instead of the 458 Speciale and still had to fight to the end. When you are 10 minutes faster you should notice a 10 minute difference in where the A.I. are. Hate rubber band A.I. in racing games so much.

Still wish they would have expanded the map too. Adding a small section up North of Canada and Alaska with a few major cities and Mexico down south would have made things feel a bit more different. With boats and planes they could have done Hawaii off the Pacific coast too.

Thanks Hayabusa. Speaking of which, any Suzuki motorcycles in the game? I'm a Kawasaki sportbike fan, but appreciate all types of motorcycles. The bikes in the game look like fun.

Guys is this worth buying...never played the first one but have been playing a lot of Forza Horizon 3 and am going to be getting Forza Horizon 4...so thoughts...opinions?

Or should I wait till it's on sale?

I haven't played this one yet, but if you like giant open worlds with the ability to change vehicle types on the fly, this looks pretty awesome despite the requirement to always be online, which really stinks.

The first game was fun, though I only played for a limited time.
