This movie had 3 different groups of people with approval power on everything durring production. Fat chance it will be any good.

Based on most everything I've read, this movie is a mess (unfortunately, I had high hopes based on some of the earlier trailers...).
Might as well get the 4K so I can experience this mess in the highest possible home entertainment resolution

That's pretty quick, less than three months. But if this really does as poorly as expected, wouldn't be surprised by that date. Hopefully will be on sale during the holidays.

It's an absolute train wreck. Ron Howard hasn't been associated with anything of quality in quite some time. Even his TV biopic on Einstein was dismal. Instead of focusing on the man and his intellect and the science behind his theories (which have held up over the decades), they basically settled on his crazy love life. The man was a "playa," but that's not exactly what's important.

Ron Howard only produced this. He only directed the pilot of Genius.

If 'quite some time' = 4 years, then it's been 4 years since Ron Howard directed something of quality. Hardly a long slump.

Don't worry. I'm sure all of that will turn around with the young Han Solo movie.

Assuming an extended cut is included with the 4K release, I wonder if it'll only be available on the blu ray? Hopefully not

Yay for Dolby Vision, but when I saw this in the theater I thought it was going to be a prime candidate for an extended cut for the home release. It seemed like so much was left on the cutting room floor.

Sony doesn't wanna risk accidentally revealing that they butchered a good movie into a terrible one.

From all the production woes surrounding this movie, it looks as though it was going to be a shit-show no matter what. Sony just made it shittier.
