I've seen reviews of the items and it looks pretty cheap and not really worth it. It would have been nice it they'd had a faux cassette inside the box, but it looks like they didn't really plan on making it very special.

I spotted the VHS Rewind stand tucked away in the corer of a local JB store. Don't think I'll be getting any of these. As I already have most of these releases already.

Good if your nostalgic for this kind of thing. For me just takes up too much room in my already overflowing and expanding collection.

The swag is crap. Only 2 post cards. That's it!!!! One of Phoenix and Wheaton and the other is Phoenix and Feldman. Nothing Jerry O'Connell, Kiefer Sutherland etc etc.

Then there is one T-Shirt transfer that is the length of my Galaxy S-8 and 1 inch wider. The transfer goes "Landscape" on your T-Shirt and says "Welcome, Castle Rock, Oregon" with some tree's in the background. It wouldn't reach from one of my nipples across to the other and I'm a slim, fit guy. I only bought it coz its in my top 5 movies and I'm stupid enough to collect all editions/art work of this particular movie etc, but if you're on the fence, FORGET ABOUT IT. The Audio/video/extra's are all the same as the previous BD release.

Not sure if the other movies in the REWIND collection are as pathetic as this one.....just thought I'd let you know about the Stand By Me edition. I love the case and Un-Original artwork tho LOL. But would still love the original artwork that was on the Australian VHS back in the 1980's.

Good to know. Stand By Me was the only one I planned to get. I'll just buy the original edition for half the price.

All six of mine were as described above. 2 post cards, one tiny t-shirt transfer. And in ALL of them the blu-ray disc was sliding around loose; NOT A SINGLE DISC was properly snapped in to the case.

Very disappointing.

That said though, the VHS packaging is beautiful.

I’ll be getting Stand By Me as it was one of my favourite films and I believe it never got a NZ release in bluray

Anyone pick up The Breakfast Club? If so, can you confirm the specs of the disc? The current specs were prior to release and a clone of the standard release from years ago. I’m just curious as to whether the disc might actually be the 4K remaster from 2015. I doubt it, but you never know!

im guessing its the original as ive got the 80s pack which includes breakfast club and its the 2010 disc

i think they took on board dave's advice about them having their original artwork on them as these look so much better. If they can fix their packaging then these limited edition releases could be a winner

Grabbing scarface and ghostbusters. I missed the first run with back to the future so not getting 2, would feel weird having that without original.

Does anyone know if this is going to be an ongoing thing, where they release some of these twice a year or so? I ask because I haven't been able to find an announcement of any kind. They announced the original batch but these new ones, as far as I can tell, have been put up for pre-order without any kind of an announcement. It would be nice to know when to look for these, or what other titles we might expect to be part of this.

They have been up for pre order for a couple of weeks, the only announcement is a banner on the JB website in the pre order movie section. The first batch were in December last year, so that's over 8 months between batches.

Am I right in thinking this is the first time Weird Science has been available on blu ray here in Oz? I recently picked up the uk release as I couldnt see an aussie version?

I stumbled across these on Monday, too, just browsing the JB new movies section. I might end up buying a couple of them, like Karate Kid, and Blues Brothers, only because the regular movie versions just aren't available on blu-ray without having to go to the trouble of ordering from overseas - although it's probably still an expensive way to buy them.

I've bought one of these before (the Ferris Bueller one) and a downside is that the discs seem to come dislodged from the holder inside the case and knock around inside. The ones I picked up instore tended to be like this from what I could hear when picking them up. Mine was, and had scratches around the center hole but luckily it played OK. It is a worry though, with these.

The package itself is nothing to write home about. It's very poorly executed and I think they could have made the whole thing more attractive.

Was released in 2013 originally, probably OOP for a while before this version. Either way from what I gather the transfer is a DNR-riddled mess

The retro VHS packaging that HMV is doing in the UK is a lot nicer. You get a poster, trading card, an inner box that looks like an actual VHS tape, etc.
