I'm holding to you on that comment. I really doubt it but if it did, I'd be delighted to no end.

I'm actually surprised Alien Covenant showed up on here myself. Guess that means the other (and much better) Ridley Scott movie that came out last year won't be on here and that's a shame.

To be fair, there were not many films that multiple people watched beyond the 50 range this year. I had some films on my list that I would not like to see in a best of either. I did however refuse to include Justice League in mine lol.

We'll see, we'll see. To be honest I'm happy as long as it made the list at all.

I haven't seen it, but am interested. I'll check it out once it's released on Blu-ray.

Great presentation!

The placements look alright so far, too. Detroit, Darkest Hour, and The Post probably should have been above The Greatest Showman, but none of them deserved to rank in the top 25, so whatever.

Those first two are fine where they are. Showman belongs in Top 10.

Also, if we are ranking 26-50, arent we really just doing a Top 50 list instead of a Top 25?

I rate Darkest Hour as top 10, personally. I thought it was going to be a bit dull but it was actually a joy to watch.

As indicated in the title for that post, the runners up always get posted before the main event.

It's normal to have the appetizers before the main course.

I'm surprised Justice League or Alien: Covenant even made it on this list at all, given the scorn that was placed upon it and Darkest Hour scored so low.

Nice work, Puppy!

Glad to see ALIEN Covenant making that list, it's the one I least expected.

We aren't doing a top 50 because I'd bet a large number of voters didn't see 50. I had 40 on my list when ballots were due, trying to push myself to 60 for 2018 before ballots are due.

At any rate, even with voting for a top 25, I'm pretty sure there were something like 300 movies that received at least one vote, so even a top 50 is pretty exclusive.

plus: I fully expect my #1 to be the community #1. Will be very surprised if it isn't.
Any thoughts to setting a higher goal for this year? I didn't have a number in mind in 2017, but I only had 22 or 23 2016 movies on my list when ballots were due last year and wanted to do better, got to 40 in 2017, shooting for 60 in 2018.

Looking good thus far. The Post, Darkest Hour, and Okja all made my list. As high as I have Okja, I didn't expect it to place very high, so I'm satisfied.

Expecting Power Rangers to be the only one from my list to not make the top 50 The rest should end up somewhere.

Same here, as I had it ranked 6th or 7th. Exceptional performance from a great actor, great supporting performances, well scripted and filmed, and given audiences (should) know the ultimate outcome, to maintain a healthy degree of tension is a job very well done by Joe Wright.
